Afilacan Dragon

General Description: the afilacan dragons are huge and powerfull dragons, their general build being not so different from that of a terran lion. However, their legs are thinner and their lionine heads are set on top of a neck that is a little over half the lenght of their bodies. Instead of hair, the body of a afilacan dragons is covered by though, steel colored scales and the color of the frills at the back of their heads is determined their gender. All afilacan dragons have a row of flexible spines running down their backs, these spines usually being shorter at the females, and their tails end in a wicked-looking blade that can cut a horse in two.
The eyes are quite like those of a cat`s, but the color is usually opalescent or a dark orange, the most anicent of afilacan dragons will almost always have dark violet eyes.
At their homeworld, Afilacan, the afilacan dragons are in danger of becomming extinct, only around a hundred individuals are in existence. The reason for this, is that they have warred with the younger races of humans and elves for centuries, slowly being forced away from the land that was once theirs and into hiding.

Special Abilities: in addition to their fire 'breathweapon', many dragons are also capable of casting quite powerfull spells. Although they have their own vocal language, they can also communicate telepathically with other races.

Size at birth: 1-3 meters long.
Size at maturity: 40-70 meters long.
Time to maturity: 200-250 years.

Mental Abilities: very intelligent, in many ways more so than humans. Afilacan dragons also inherit the knowledge of their parents, so even a young one will probably be aware of events several hundred years old. However, they are also a very proud species, and a group of afilacan dragons can hold a grudge for centuries.

Females have red, gold, yellow, copper or purple frills.
Males have blue, green, white, silver or black frills.
