Personality: Quiet and shy, Merolah grew up a sheltered life and even after two years of apprenticeship as a woodsmith and then eight months of being a candidate, she still shys away from socialization. Bright and considerate, she knows her limits and will never try to do more than she can, and at times can be overcautious to the point of being resistant to even menial chores that might be dangerous. She has not figured out why any searchrider in their right mind would ever think she could be a proper dragonrider, but she is now somewhat hopeful to have a dragon partner - even if she has not come to terms with weyr morals. Surrounded by a bunch of weyrbrats who grew up knowing they would one day be a candidate, she sometimes feels overwhelmed by their morals, like she must change them or else not fit in, but she hasn't fell into that stage yet - Merolah keeps to the candidate barracks and brushes off advances.
Background: Born in FarNorth Hold, the daughter of a Journeyman Woodsmith and his wife, Merolah was an only child due to complications during her mother's pregnancy and was therefore protected and cherished. Her parents even went to the point to keep her in the safety of their quarters at the woodsmith hall two miles from FarNorth, raising Merolah to be the perfect child that every Pernese parent would dream of - polite, obiedient, pretty, and accepting of instructions. Merolah's parents would not even for the most part allow her very far from their protective eye without someone that her parents could have trusted.
Her early days were very boring, therefore. When she turned twelve, she was apprenticed to her father's craft for a better education, but never with the expectation to one day become a journeywoman - even Merolah knew that she was just there to be under her father's eye. Right after her fourteenth birthingday she was Searched for a clutch only three weeks after her arrival, where she did not Impress. She has since attended one more hatching, but she is currently still a candidate, receiving her education without the extreme orders. She is split over whether she really does want to Impress or not, possibly hoping to return to FarNorth Hold to continue her apprenticeship.
