I'm currently working on the first in what I hope will be a line of critters inspired by the gods in Egyptian mythology. And therefore I would like to ask if anyone out there knows about a good site about egyptian gods(as detailed as you can find, not just with the most known ones).

Once I have the first creature finished as an example, it would also be great if some of you might be interesting in helping to create some of the creature types in the line.

I would be honored to help out in the creation. I dont know of any good sites, but I will look around and I could always help out with the creatures distription. I always did like Egyption myths and stories. Pm me if you have any specific duties you would like me to do.

That's a wonderful idea, Shadow- and one you can easily pull off. I too will be glad to contribute in whatever way I can; mythology has fascinated me since first I knew words. Ask of me what you may smile.gif

I'd be more than happy to help with the critters Shadow! Egypt mythology, along with celtic(personal love affair with celtic anything), have always fascinated me so I think this would be a fun project.

Just so you know Shadow, these links give the MODERN versions of most of these god/esses. For example: early in Egyptian history Bast was NOT the goddess of sensuality or cats! She was one of the goddesses known as the "eye of Ra" who actually was a vengence dealer who ripped the hearts out of people to lay them at Ra's feet. Granted she was connected/viewed as a cat sometimes but that was more in her protector/prosperity roles in the after life.

Sorry, Bast is a slight...okay major interest of mine and seeing these modern versions of her I just feel obligated to clarify that most of the others probably are too.

If you don't mind the modern versions of the god/esses then these sites are wonderfully put together and I honestly don't know any compiled sites like these for the 'original' Kemetic (egyptian) gods.

Ack, done rambling, gonna go hide...

Thanks everyone.
I'm still working on the first race which you may use as a reference once I'm finished with it and post it here. But right now I'm not exactly sure how long it will take, as I'm not particulary happy with how the critter is developing and may have to scrap what I have written this far.
