Darkdragon

General Description: although they share many physical features with the sjirran dragons, there`s no doubt that the darkdragons are different in many ways. Rather than having skin, their bodies are covered in thousands of tiny scales which can appear somewhat delicate, but which is just as strong as the skin of the sjirran dragons. Unlike their cousins, the darkdragons are carnivores, something which are evident when seeing the way their teeth are constructed and the talons at their feet are much longer and sharper, much like a felines. Another difference is that their 'breathweapon' are fire rather than lightning, a talent they get from various gasses produced when they digest their food and their inate ability for magic. For reasons that is still to be discovered, the breathweapon of a darkdragon appears capable of passing through any magical defence, not matter its strenght.
Darkdragons are deceptively slender of build, and from just above their eyes on each side of the head, two sharp horns curve gently backwards. Instead of spikes or spines, darkdragons have a 'row' of narrow, bony plates running from the back of their heads and to the tip of the tail(these plates are widests at the back). Basically the darkdragons is an agressive species whose exact origin is unknown, so where this species of dragons came from are still a source of much speculation.
There is only one type of darkdragon, but the number of colors seem to be limited in this species;

Red; 50-60 meters long.
Bronze and red; 40-55 meters long.
Beige; 35-40 meters long.
Black-bluegrey; 30-40 meters long.
Brass; 20-25 meters long.

Special Abilities: like the sjirran dragons, the ability to use magic at a high level is inate in the darkdragons and although they possess no technology themselves, they seem to have a great understanding of how it works and how to counter it. For reasons that is still to be discovered, the breathweapon of a darkdragon appears capable of passing through any magical defence, not matter its strenght.

Time to maturity: 100-300 years.

Mental Abilities: genius-level intelligence, it`s almost impossible to outsmart a darkdragon. However, darkdragons are very lacking in empathy for others than those of their own kind.

How often can the creature get pregnant: every 50-70 years.
How long between pregnancies: depends on the female.
How long is it pregnant: 20-30 years.
Are all females fertile (barring accidents): yes.
Are all males fertile (barring accidents): yes.
How many offspring can the creature have at once: 2-10.
Anything else you can think of: darkdragons are one of the many creatures working for the dark gods.
