Deep Mountain Dragon.

General Description: the largest species of dragon at Camidra, the deep mountain dragons are generally found in large cave systems-- often in or around volcanoes or at the very least in caves where they draw magma from chambers much deeper inside the planet to create lakes or rivers of lava. Massive creatures as adults, the body of a deep mountain dragon is covered with tough scales, like massive slabs of rock, rows of spikes and spines decorates their heads, necks, backs and sides. Deep mountain dragons have powerfull legs-- a sickle-shaped claw growing from each digit, and thought they have apparently functional wings, the wings of an adult usually grows too torn and covered with scaly growths to be truly usefull. Young deep mountain dragons however, tend to be lithe, brightly colored and even beautifull creatures, and as they can usually fly-- they often serve as agents for the adults out in the world.
All deep mountain dragons are quite fond of fire, although the young ones cannot tolerate anywhere close to the temperatures that the adults can, they also prefer the light from lava to any other type of light.
Whether young or old, deep mountain dragons does not care about other races-- the only source of interest they have in them being how much the efforts of others can bring to their hoards. However, it does happen that a deep mountain dragon will keep a small number of chosen humans or other easily controled beings as servants(well, more than pets really).

Special Abilities: deep mountain dragons are quite adept within the areas of pyromancy and geomancy, which they use to adapt caves to their liking and as a weapon when neccessary. As they have a vocal language, deep mountain dragons nearly never use telepathy-- although they are quite capable of resisting telepathic and empathic attacks.

Size at birth: 10-15 meters.
Size at maturity: 150-200 meters.
Time to maturity: 600 years.

Mental Abilities: deep mountain dragons are quite equal to genius-level humans in terms of intelligence. However, while they possibly could have dominated the world with some effort, they seem to prefer to stay in their communities deep underground. Younger dragons of the species are generally more adventorous, but once reaching adulthood-- most are content with watching over their hoards and dream the centuries away. If disturbed in his or her lair however, a deep mountain dragon is not likely to respond in a way likely to leave the intruders alive for long.

Mature females: dark browns and black, with highlights of tarnished silver or copper.
Mature males: very dark blood red and black, with a light speckling of bronze or gold.

Hatchlings/younglings: the scales of young males and females may be bright browns, reds and any metall colors.
