Hinrayu almost chuckled as she started down the other side of the hill, moving slowly so that she wouldn't unseat her passenger.
::When out in the wilds, Jarell generally isn't one to take chances, although I may have had to talk a bit of sense into him back when we first started working together. These days he rarely give me any reasons to kick him::
Then she suddenly shuddered, and with a wordless warning to Nikitaa, she leapt into a gallop-- running at full speed.

Tail twitching in agitation as she tried to decide what to do, Riss looked from the offworlders, to the injured human male and finally to the ayron. But just when she was about to take a step forwards, her nostrils flared, and a few moments later they were hit by a torrential rainfall.
::This really isn't my problem:: she muttered, unfolding a wing to cover her head as she backed away from the offworlders and strangers.
::However, if you're out of range of some place where you can call for aid from, I can pass on a message as I return home. Just tell me to where and who::
Wrinkling her nose in distaste over the uncomfortable feeling of cold rain running through her fur and plumage, the owlpanther shook herself.
Then she whirled around and hissed as another ayron and its rider came into sight, galloping towards her and the others.

"Jarell!" Nikitaa cried, almost jumping off of Hinrayu's back before they even reached Serren and her mate. When they finally did come close enough, she pitched herself easily to the ground, recalling her herder instincts, and ran to her husband, pulling him away from the giant offworld beast and it's rider. She didn't care it was raining, pushing her hair out of the way and pulling out bandages. "Jarell, come on, wake up. It's alright, I'm here, just wake up, please." She set the rifle down between her knees and his body, finally realizing that the beast was still there. Protecting the gun with her arm, she shakily turned to the beast. "You've killed him, I know it! You killed my mate!"

At the time she wasn't thinking straight, but she pulled the trigger, releasing a bullet before it knocked her backwards over her mate's body. The shot went up instead of straight, splitting Niarth's skin over his back, not enough to really hurt him. Nikitaa cried out, dropping the gun and cradling her arm before forgetting about the dragon and returning to trying to help her husband. "Hinrayu, make sure they don't leave! They have to pay for their crimes!" she said in after thought to the ayron.

Shadow- 05-23-2005
Though she didn't reply, Hinrayu's eyes narrowed as she circled Niarth and his rider once, studying them both. And hitting the ground once with a fore-hoof, she gained Tarima's attention before she spoke, ::if you or your dragon tries to leave, I will make sure that you will not get far.::
With that, the ayron summoned a hawk-form fire elemental, instructing it to watch both Tarima and Niarth. Some might have considered it harsh to do against someone who was obviously already terribly frightened...
However, after what the dragon had done to her companion, she was not prepared to act any differently.

::With this, I am not certain if the Healer will be able to do much, we should get him to a city:: she said once she had dealt with the offworlders and turned back to check on Jarell and Nikitaa.
::There is an access point to the continent wide transportation system not so far from here. Me being a Warden and Jarell a warden rider, we both have an access permitt..::

Aqya- 05-23-2005
"We have to get someone to do something about those two," Nikitaa said, pointing at Tarima and Niarth with a shaky hand. "They've killed him! They killed my husband!" The young woman broke down in tears, burying her face in Jarell's chest. "An eye for an eye, that is the old saying. They should die for what they have done to him!" She grabbed her gun again, pointing it at the girl and her dragon. "They need to die right here for what they have done to Jarell, to the father of my child!"

She broke down and dropped the gun, falling to her knees in a wail. "Why? Why did this happen?!" she screamed, punching at the dirt.

(Sorry so short - only so much that she can do)

Shadow- 05-29-2005
OOC: hopefully you won't mind, but I thought it would be better to move things along a bit.

IC.
Hinrayu's ears flicked backwards in response to the noise, and she snorted unhappily as Jarell woke up, screaming. The situation was bad enough as it was, with her rider severely injured, and the matter of having ot deal with the offworlders responsible.
But by the gods..., why did humans have such piercing voices.., part of her mind complained.
::Help me with getting him up on my back will you?:: she asked Nikitaa, giving the young woman a nudge, ::I have stilled the bleeding for now. However, he may not last for long if we don't get him to a experienced Healer quickly::

Kneeling, Hinrayu waited patiently till Nikitaa had moved Jarell up at her back, and then she slowly stood up again while her rider's mate supported him. Only then did she turn to glare at the brown dragon and its rider, ::you will both come with us. If you try to run, the fire elemental is still instructed to do what is neccesary to stop you. You will walk at the ground with us::
Turning slowly, she then headed in the direction of the entrance to the sub terran transportation system, quietly hoping that the smell of blood wouldn't attract anything that they couldn't deal with.

Aqya- 05-30-2005
"Jarell, don't fall back asleep, just stay with me, alright?" Nikitaa said, panicking slightly as she supported him on Hinrayu's back, making sure he didn't fall off backwards. She whimpered, looking over her shoulders with the same idea that Hinrayu had - that there may be some creatures lurking out for a quick easy meal of humans. Tucking the rifle under her arm, she shook her head. "How could this happen? That beast needs to die for what it did to him! Look at Jarell, he's torn up and...."

She shook her head, fighting back tears. "He's not in the best of shape. Once we get to the city I want them turned over to the authorities, but I think it would be best to say that they came through alone for now, so that no one comes to the camp and causes mayhem. They already have enough on their hands without a thousand others flooding in to gawk and perform experiments on those other beasts."

Shadow- 05-30-2005
Turning slightly to give the brown dragon a mental nudge, that way getting him up at his feet, Hinrayu waited for the few moments it took for the rider to haul herself up at the dragon's neck, then she started moving at a fast walk. If the offworlders moved too slow, the elemental would make sure that they kept up with her and her two riders.
::It would be up to Nyril whether to report this, but I will certainly not mention more than our 'friends' there. They however..., I will make sure that they come to regret their actions::
Nearly baring her teeth, the ayron continued towards the entrance she knew she would find nearby. And she repeatedly glanced backwards to make completely certain that their offworlder captives were following.

::We'll be passing through the access scanner shortly, just between those two stone pillars you see right ahead. If you could try to make sure that Jarell is at least slightly awake, we would be able to pass through much more quickly:: Hinrayu said a while later. Then she stopped to wait for any response from Nikitaa and for the offworlders to stop beside them.
About half a minute later, she moved forwards again, a tingling sensation running through her skin as she passed through the scanner. And soon they entered a room which had not been visible from the outside, the entrance to a large elevator just ahead.

Aqya- 05-30-2005
Nikitaa shook Jarell slightly. "You need to wake up just a little," she told him before they went through the scanner. Having never gone into one, she was surprised by the tingling - it was something she had never experienced before, and never really wanted to again. She was not the type to enjoy technology, and she thought the rifle was too technical for her. "What is that?" she asked Hinrayu, pointing to the elevator. "I thought we were looking for a train, but that doesn't look like a train. I thought they went sideways, but that goes up and down, doesn't it?" She readjusted her grasp on Jarell and closed her eyes for a second. "Oh, now I am babbling," she muttered. "I just want Jarell to be alright. He's going to be a father soon and he can't miss that."

Shadow- 05-30-2005
Hinrayu snorted, like Nikitaa she didn't have much use for technology, the way things were at the Sarrkham Plains suited her perfectly. In situations like this however, she was glad that she had eventually given up pro-*test*-('")ing when it had been insisted that she at least knew how to access the transportation system.
::It is an elevator:: she said, not at all sure about how to explain something she knew little about herself, ::the trains are quite far below the ground, in tunnels, an elevator will get us there much quicker than we can walk or run::
Ordering the offworlders to enter the elevator first to make sure that it could take the weight, Hinrayu hesitated nervously before she stepped into it herself.
And as she doors closed, she shook her head slightly and snorted-- the elevator might be quite large, but she didn't like being trapped in a place with no obvious way out.
::So do I:: she said quietly, hoping that the elevator was taking them down to where they needed to go though she couldn't feel if it moved or not. There was no buttons or panels though, so she could only guess that it was automatic.

Seconds later, the door opened, and she nearly jumped backwards in startlement as they were greeted by a blast of chilled air-- created by a huge oval craft which had just appeared for a tunnel opening in one end of a even more immense cave.
White with a pattern of green, the craft-- or train, had to be at least two hundred meters long, and the doors which soundlessly opened at the side facing them created an opening more than wide enough even for the brown dragon to enter.
::Don't wait, get inside now:: Hinrayu hissed at the offworlders, trying her best to hide her own anxiety.

Takhisis- 05-31-2005
Niarth had watched blearily as the new human and other creatures had come towards him and the other one he had.......mutilated. He hung his head, unable to clear the horror and guilt from himself. He was not to......he shouldn't..............dragons DIDN'T hurt humans! The fact that he had been defending his rider from harm didn't make a difference, he had maybe killed that one. Tarima, getting flashes of his feelings slowly came around, hugging his neck to comfort him. He started slightly as the pregnant one lifted the gun and shot it at him, barely feeling the graze as the bullet split his skin, too deeply sunk in his guilt and grief.
Tarima was helpless to help. The bond she shared was such that she was incapacitated by Niarth's feelings. SHE should have woken and stopped him, SHE should have reassured him all was ok and they would be fine............ She looked up as a hoof was stamped at her, nodding dully at the instructions she was given. And when she was told to move, mounted Niarth and told him to follow where he was shown. The link still there in her head, but considerably weaker now, she despaired, he had nearly killed someone, someone who might still die, and it was all her fault. She wiped a tear from her eye, looking up as she did so. They must have travelled a fair distance, for as she looked around, she realised they were in a box. As she looked around, a door opened, and they were greeted by a huge metal thing, that they were urged into. Hiding her fear, and laying flat on Niarth's neck to comfort him as best she could, she nade him enter, bracing herself for what was to come............

Shadow- 06-04-2005
Suddenly a whirl of tiny points of light appeared just in front of, first seeming to be little more than a cloud of dust in the air-- but quickly increasing in lumniscence and going from plain white to a multitude of colors. And almost too fast to see, it became a hologram of a tall drakian woman, looking at the group about ot enter the train with a disapproving look at her face.

"I am Aarihan, the adrerar currently in charge of the lines under the Sarrkham Plains" she said, "while I recognize most of you as legitimate residents of the Plains, two of you are not. According to the AI database I work with, the dragon and the human with him are not residents of Sjirra or registered as visitors. The data from the scanners outside also suggest that their genetics and elements of their bodies do not correspond to any race on file.
The differences are small in case of the human, but the dragon..."

Acctivated by the adrerar from its distant location, two pilars of very faint light reached down from the ceiling to surround Tarima and Niarth.
"None of the two are carrying active diseases, but there may be micro-organisms and viruses that may prove harmfull, therefore they will need to remain within the quarantine fields for the journey.
I will also have to report their presence to the authorities in any city you will be traveling to. Would you require that I notify them of that one of you will require medical assistance?"

Aqya- 06-04-2005
Nikitaa looked down at Jarell and then Hinrayu and whimpered, hugging her mate tighter to her body as if oblivious to his injuries. "I don't know what is going on," she whispered to the ayron, her skin tightening up signifigantly as she tensed. "You handle these matters, but I know that Jarell needs medical care immediately, but that's it. You handle this stuff, would you?" She looked back at the hologram and whimpered again, turning around to look at the wall that had no abnormalities. It was making her even more uncomfortable than she was before, and that was hard to do.

OOC - Sorry so short.

Shadow- 06-05-2005
::I'll try..:: Hinrauy said, hoping that the adrerar would have some kind of telepathic interface through which it could hear her in this place. Taking a step forwards, she then took a deep breath before speaking.
::That is acceptable of-course, though you should also report that the offworlder's dragon attacked my companion. Please make sure that a medic team is ready when we arrive-- I believe that we will be going to Iacola City::
Certainly Levoren City was closer, Hinrayu thought, but Jarell had relatives in Iacola that might be able to give some help if neccessary.
The ayron turned her head to take a look at Jarell and Nikitaa, hoping that they would be ok during the journey. It was quite far to Iacola, but it shouldn't take that long if she recalled correctly how fast those trains traveled.

With a slow nod, Aarihan's hologram stepped aside, "I'll make sure to direct your train as quickly as I can to your chosen destination. The train operate using space/time bending technology, so some of you may experience a mild dizzyness or other discomfort. It is nothing to worry about however".
She smiled slightly as the group entered the train, taking a step backwards as the doors closed and the train started moving.
"You should also sit down during the journey, the train will provide seats appropriate to your build" she said. Then she turned to look at Tarima and Niarth, a wrinkle appearing between her eyes as she seemed to be thinking hard about something.

Aqya- 06-05-2005
"Is that good?" Nikitaa asked as the hologram stepped aside. Caught up in her emotions, it seemed as everything was distant. She looked back down at Jarell again and whimpered, seeing the wounds again in a different light. Suddenly her chest seized as she saw her shirt right over her stomach covered in blood. "Oh my, oh my, oh my, oh my!" the young woman screamed, freeing one of her hands to wipe it away. Nikitaa was afraid for Jarell, herself, and her unborn child all at once. If Jarell died, she would have to raise the child on her own, without a father. He was bleeding too badly... they would have to reach Iacola in record time if there was much hope for him. He was probably going into shock from the amount of blood that he was losing, and it was making her so anxious that she was risking going into early labor herself, or miscarrying.

She looked to the back of Hinrayu's head, bracing herself against the panic that was ravaging her. "We have to get there soon, and he has to be alright, alright? He's hurt so badly. So badly...."
