Iridescent

General Description: the iridescents are a race of forest-dwelling draconics, native to a terra type planet far away from ours. They are about the same size as a terran horse and their bodies are covered with multi-colored feathers. Although spending most of their lives in the trees of their homeworld, the iridescents have feather-covered wings, but the iridescents only fly when they are hunting. The feet of the iridescents are quite broad and have five toes, between each to is a web of tough skin that suggests that the ancestors of the iridescents may have been a water-dwelling species. Wiry and elegant of build, they are excellent at climbing and running, as well as flying. Iridescents do not have horns or spikes and their bodies are much like a long-legged felines, the fore-legs being almost as flexible as a humans. Their heads resemble that of a wolfs, but more heavily built and without ears.
Young iridescents stay with their parents until they are strong enough to fend for themselves in the youngling packs.

Special Abilities: like most other animals at their homeworld, the iridescents are telepathic. They communicate through images and emotions, only rarely with words. One quite unique ability that the iridescents have developed, is the ability to telepathically mask their presence from their prey, or make it think that the iridescent isn`t where it acctually is.

Size at maturity: 3-5 meters long.
Time to maturity: 10-15 years.

Mental Abilities: Although the iridescents are highly intelligent, they percieve the world somewhat differently than what a human would, after all, someone who are capable of flying and have a strong telepathic talent, would probably not think in the same fashion as a landbound creature. As they are among the top predators in their world, the iridescents can sometimes be rather unpredictable, it is hard to determine exactly how they will react to something..
