Midel Flitts
Also known as mini dragons, these miniature dragons are acknowledged by the Midel dragons to be distant cousins.
They are smaller than the dragons, 5cms at birth, and grow to the size of a Terran Blue tit. They do not have the ability to make themselves larger as their cousins do. Otherwise they are like the Midel dragons.
Description
There are four types of Midel Flitts –Amethyst, Obsidian, Pyrite and Jasper.
Average size is 11cms high plus tail [which is usually same length as body].
Has arms and legs, has four fingers and opposing thumbs, ditto for feet. Sharp claws.
Has pointed ears, large multicolour eyes that reflect emotions. Wings – 2 section, membrane. Strong legs for springing lift.
Can live wild, but prefers to bond with a partner.
They are sociable creatures and like to live with other Flitts and bondmates. Matures at 1 yr.
Have a mischievous sense of humour, a short attention span, but can be trained for simple tasks such as message carrying, if taught from very young.
Special abilities
Telepathic, telekinetic. Communicates with images and emotions.
Females – dominant and largest of all Midel mini dragons is the Amethyst female. Skin is multi toned purples and lilacs. Grows to12cms (5”) mates and clutches once a year, Pregnant 2 months, 4 – 8 eggs. Does not produce twins.
Smaller female –Pyrite – gold and silver tones. clutches 2 - 4 eggs, only Jasper or Pyrite hatch from her clutch.
Males – Dominant male – Obsidian, black sheen with hints of green/red/blue in the light.
Grows to 11.5cms (41/2”) prefers to mate and partner an Amethyst female, but will fly a mating flight with a Pyrite.
Smaller male – Jasper, Reddish brown with hints of gold and yellow. Never mates with [catches] an Amethyst.
