Srrmaie hovered restlessly over the clutch of 24 eggs. She could 'hear' the hatchlings inside, hers the loudest but followed closely by the Gauzewing eggs she was fostering until they bonded. *Now!* she sent her mate Mrlarr. *Send the messengers*
With a rumble, he spoke to the assorted flits around them, *Go find candidates, they are hatching* and he snorted, blowing a few end over end *And be sure to wait to bring them here!*
The Golds of the fair chirped their agreement, they would not fail! The flits rose as one, the message clear in their heads, The hatching begins, you are called to come, food will be provided all are welcome
As they left Srrmaie watched the clutch, the first of the eggs was cracking! Joy and a small amount of sorrow tinged her thoughts, *Today, our firstborn will hatch and find their bonds!* she sent to her mate.
And they waited, surrounded by the rocking eggs.........

Talla had finally gotten the baby to sleep and she was sneaking out of the room when suddenly a miniature dragon appeared in front of her. Clearly agitated the thing gave a loud squawk, which was greeted by sleepy cries from the now very awake baby, before it landed on Talla's shoulder. Not sure what to make of the critter Talla nearly shooed it off her shoulder until she recieved images of dragons sitting around rocking eggs.

Trying to contain her excitement Talla ran back over to the baby, lifted him out of his cradle and ran downstair and out the back door the creature still perched on her shoulder. As she ran out the back door she nearly bumped into her younger sister-in-law Elianna.

"Ouch!," exclaimed the girl as the hand she had been reaching towards the door suddenly had said door slammed into it. Looking into Talla's eyes, and at the creature on her shoulder, Eli knew what she was so excited about. Giving a loud whoop, which sent the baby into even my crying, Eli turned around and ran towards the cavern her brother, Talla's husband, was exploring. With the trio of human's growing number of bonds they needed more room for them to live in so Aithen was trying to find a suitable cavern.

As both women raced into the cavern Aithen looked up to see smiles spread across their faces. Not even having to ask all Aithen said was, "Talla go get the baby's sling I'll get the dragons ready. Talla handed the baby boy, now much quieter, to his aunty Eli and then she ran back to the house to get it.

As Talla returned from the house she saw two dragon's emerging from the current living cavern already strapped up. As she approached the tiny dragon on her shoulder gave a pretty trill and flew up into the air to greet its distant relatives. Elianna was already mounted on her crimson queen Ryalla and while Aithen's dragon Marken had claimed he wanted to go as well he was still recovering from an ambush at the last hatching he had gone to with Aithen. Instead Aithen was followed by Talla's orange female Mika.

As Talla reached her dragon Mika sent to her, *Finally we can go somewhere again, I'm so glad you had your hatchling.* The orange, like Talla herself, had become increasingly antsie over the past 4 months when Talla became to big with her pregnancy to Travel. Reaching out to pat the dragoness's shoulders Talla muttered, "Me too love," and then climbed up to Mika's back. Once she was up and situated Aithen handed up the baby which Talla promptly secured in his sling.

Once he'd given the baby to Talla, Aithen had run over to Ryalla and climbed up behind Eli. Suddenly both Mika and Ryalla gave surprised snorts and messages were sent to Eli and Talla, *The little thing showed us where to go, hang on.*

Before any of the three humans were totally ready Mika and Ryalla launched into the air and were gone. Shortly after dissappearing from Triial the small group reappeared above the place of the hatching. The tiny little dragon immediately flew down and the dragons followed it, hoping it would lead them to the eggs. Sure enough, the little creature waited for the big dragons to land their passengers to climb down and then it led them all to an area with two dragons and a bunch of eggs.

Talla feeling ecstatic at finally being able to attend another hatching approached the dragon she assumed to be the male and bowed to him saying, "I am Talla from Triial, my husband, his sister and myself wish to attend your hatching if you will have us."

Mrlarr looked up at the sky, the messengers should reach the candidates soon. Just then he saw one of them pop back then out again, chittering ecstatically, and he knew at least one was on the way. Uncurling himself he stretched, watching the eggs, their clutch of eggs ranged from 50 feet tall to the four largest at 70 feet tall. At least 2 kings and queens he thought proudly *You have done well Srrmaie* and he nuzzled her gently. She rumbled in pleasure at him then her head snapped round and she stared at the hatching grounds entrance. He looked over and saw a group of 3 walk in, with a rumble of pleasure he moved towards them, careful to be slow, a 1200 foot long dragon has to be careful how he moves!
One of the group walked to him and bowed, saying "I am Talla from Triial, my husband, his sister and myself wish to attend your hatching if you will have us." He bowed his head in response, *You are most welcome here, as you can see there are a lot of eggs with us* and he snorted with amusement, *Feel free to make yourself comfortable, we have a short while before they begin to hatch in earnest*
*One word of advice* put in Srrmaie *When hatched, our kind are rather large but still in need of reassurance, food is to the left of the cave, our younglings will eat anything presented to them* and she gave a little smile *The gauzewings are a lot smaller and will tend to be a bit more aloof, they need tempting to you. Good luck to you all* With a nod to the three before her she turned to the eggs and rearranged a few while she waited.

Kikkia and Karon were out-side play, well Karon was playing. Kikkia was drawing. Suddenly a flitt poped into the air above her. It sent her a pickture with dragons and eggs but that was all she could make-out before it flew off to her cousin. When the flitt left the two just looked at eachother for a moment before getting there stuff and getting to the sands.

When they got there both bowed to the clutch parents. Karon steped forward "We are here to help your younglings if you'll permit us." He said, Kikkia nodding brhind him.

Aiyana stepped nervously into the caverns that held the hatching grounds. She had never been to a hatching before and had no idea what to expect - she had been shocked when she had caught a movement in the corner of her eye moments before and had projected images of dragons and eggs. She had followed the flits and ended up here, but she was very unsure as to whether she should be there or not.

Flipping her hair behind her shoulder, she watched a small group from the shadows and heard one announce herself to the dragons. Noticing how small the others looked in comparison to the dragons made Aiyana draw in her breath. She made to turn around and go when she felt the flit grab hold of her shirt with it's claws. Batting it off she realized that the dragons were now aware of her presence so she stepped forward with much more confidence than she felt.

"Uhm," the girl smiled weakly, "My name is Aiyana and I would love to attend your hatching." Aiyana's face went bright red as she felt a little silly, but the meaning behind her words were genuine.

No sooner had Mrlarr and Srrmaie greeted the first, three more people entered one seperate from the other. He turned to the pair approaching him and bent his head to greet them. *You are welcome here* he said *I wish you both luck here* He turned his head to the other who had entered, watching her being pulled by the flit, slightly amused, then spoke as she finished talking to him. *You need not feel silly, none of us here bite so there is nothing to fear either!* and he chuckled. He was about to add more when with an loud, almost explosive crack 7 of the eggs shattered, depositing 7 moist and complaining hatchlings on the flor, one a Platinum gauzewing the other six kristayls. A Sapphire King, a Garnet protector and an Emerald soldier were the first to stand followed by three females, an Amethyst soldier and two Amber soldiers. Weaving a little the hatchlings surveyed the candidates before them, the King gave a purring cry and headed out of the nest first. Followed closely by the others, he wandered towards the candidates crooning as he went.
Srrmaie smiled at them as they moved, *It begins dear* she sent to Mrlarr, then gently bent forwards and nudged the gauzewing forward.

Maiken was sitting on the lawn reading a book when a flit appeared above her. She looked around to see if it wanted her and saw no one else so she headed to the sands. She saw the hatchlings and immediately went toward an Amethyst soldier. She fed it immediatly and felt extremely happy. She had always wondered what it would be like to have a dragon.

Takhisis- 12-13-2004
One of the Amethyst females lifted her head, there! At the entrance! Her person! she was trying to get her legs to work faster when her to be bonded ran to her, Maiken, thet was her name! With a croon, she said *I knew you would be here, I am hungry!* and accepted the food offered, *It is not usual for us to know a bond* she said *But as you came in I knew you were mine!* and she rumbled happily. She rubbed her (rather large) head against the girl, *You may name me now bond* and she gave a purring croon as she watched her bond.

Sephiroth- 12-13-2004
"I think you are pretty like a pearl so, Pearl that's your name!"

Takhisis- 12-13-2004
The hatchling crooned *That is a nice name. I like it* and she gave her bond a slight push *We should leave now, there are more to hatch* Srrmaie and Mrlarr gave a rumble of congratulations *Congratulations Maiken* they sent *I hope you and your bond have a happy and long life* then they turned to watch the other hatchlings and the candidates below them as the newly bonded hatchling gently pushed her bond towards the entrance.

Landing close to the Hatching Ground, having materialized just a few meters above the ground, Shimmer-- a winterdragon took a look around before she shook off the layer of frost and ice covering her body. She had been skydancing in a icestorm when one of her bonds had alerted her about the Hatching, and after receiving the proper co-ordinates, she had teleported straight to the place. And with a glance as the ice now melting by her feet, regretting having left such a lovely storm for a warm place such as this, but then the winterdragon arched her neck as she looked at those present.
"I am Shimmer, a winterdragon from Sjirra. One of my companions told me about this Hatching, so I hope that you will not mind that I attend it as a candidate" she said, inclining her head in a greeting to the dam and sire of the clutches.

Takhisis- 12-13-2004
Srrmaie looked up as a dragon appeared in the hatching grounds. Ice melted and steamed at her feet as she looked up at them, *You are welcome here* she said to the winterdragon *We have plenty of eggs and as yet few candidates, I wish you luck here today* and she inclined her head in respect to the dragon, *We can, if you wish make it a bit cooler in here for you?* just then one of the eggs in front of her rocked, drawing her attention away.

Shadow- 12-14-2004
Shimmer smiled, "I thank you for offering, but I will be fine. My kind certainly prefer colder climates, but spending some time here is not going ot be much of an annoyance in terms of temperature.
And while I do not know how common it would be among your kind to have dragon bond to dragon, thank you for accepting me as a candidate".
With that, the black dragoness folded her wings, turning her eyes towards the egg that seemed to be the most active of those on the Sand.

Passing flitts above the trees alerted Zylunna. Poking her body from the protective covering of her roosting trees brances, Zylunna listen to the excited flitts chating among themselves. Being extreamly sensitive to telepathic though, Zylunna could understand the darlings even from their highth. She bespoke the two once they came closer and asked what news they carry. The flitts chated about a hatching excitenly and gave Zylunna the place where it was to be held. Enthusiastic about the hatching herself, the Jrimixzee thanked the kind flitts and sent a message to her new, but good friend Rouri, an Illuniarishi.

Rouri accepted and was just as excited as Zylunna about the great news. With her newest bond, a Striirecean dragon named Kyali, the young healer arrived to pick Zylunna up. While able to fly for herself with her silver and gold tipped feathered wings, Zylunna lacked the ability to teleport like Kyali and Rouri. Kyali's colors dazzled in the sunlight with her silver skined rider perched at the base of her neck. Rouri too had wings, but her young dragon loved it when she was able to fly Rouri around, so Rouri nearly always obliged. It was quite a sight having a dragon having a dragon/human hybrid as a rider and it would be even more funny one Zylunna joined the two.

The trio in the skies above the hatching sight and redish-copper dragon glided them down gently. The small vains of silver, gold and bronze made the Striirecean glimmer slightly as if her hide was actually made of metal. These colors represent the trait possesed by the young female and obviously her abilities evolve around metals. On the ground, Zylunna didn't bother shapeshifting in to a more human form like she usually would, but her new friend, who did not have the abilities of the Jrimixzee, gave her confedince. So Zylunna stayed in her true form with a humanoid body with two feathered wings and a dragon like tail. The three friend entered the cavern and stood wide eyed at the eggs and hatchlings that have already hatched. First things first, the group spoted the parents of this clutch and introduced themselves. Rouri spoke for the other two as bother were a little shy. "Greetings to you. Me, Allemerouri, and my companions, Zylunna and Kyali, would be honored to be able to present ourselves to your children. Will you allow us to be candidates?"

OOC.sorry is so long am introducing new people. wink.gif

Takhisis- 12-14-2004
OOC: Thats ok biggrin.gif And the more the merrier!

Srrmaie and Mrlarr both nodded to the newcomers, *Welcome, we are pleased to see more people for the hatchlings* said Srrmaie. *Please, take a place round the eggs and we wish you good luck!*
As she spoke the large egg in front of her shattered, spilling to the floor a Diamond Queen. She turned to look at her mother and father, crooning, then turned to the candidates before her. She looked from one to the other, then her gaze fixed on the large black dragon before her, *Your eyes!* she send *They are so bright...Shimmer is your name?* and she took a few steps towards her, head to one side.

A bit further away, the Platinum gauzewing took a few steps towards Aiyana. *What is it like where you are?* and she stared at the girl, *Is it warm?*
Behind her the Emerald soldier, watched also, wanting to come closer but not sure of himself. he waited for the girl to notice him as well as the gauzewing.

The Sapphire king moved forward to the group of three that had just arrived, looking at the girl with wings *They are nice* and he smiled *Do you stay like that?* and he tilted his head at her, curious. In a semi-circle behind him stood the three hatchlings that were currently talking to no-one, the male Garnet and the two amber females. *Look* said one of the Ambers *The silver one! She reflects our colours!* Both Ambers looked but the Garnet was watching the coppery dragon before him. *You shine you know!* and he took a step forwards.

As the hatchlings were talking a large kristayl egg at the edge of the clutch rocked, then split in half. The hatchling fell to the floor and didn't move and both parents crooned and moved forward in worry. The hatchling lay on the floor barely breathing, not of a colour they had seen before, dark and not shimmery at all. Nearer black then any colour, it weakly lifted it's head and moaned.
