Kyolites

General Description
kyolites are the first product of magically charged atmosphere of the Kyolis Islands. They and the draki are the only groups completely unique to the islands. Kyols are a magical mutation of the pet foxes the elves brought with them, though the current kyolite sometimes resembles mainland felines more than their true ancestors. Though kyols come in two types foxish or more feline in appearance they all share the same large pointed ears, big eyes and the bushy fox tail.
Pelt colors can vary through any known feline or canine coloration, its not uncommon for colors to range to grayish shades of green, blue, or rose (more intense shades appear very rarely). Many have distinctive marks, stripes, facial "masks", spots, and even Siamese-like "points."
A kyolite's fur length is short to medium depending on the island of origin but all are very, very soft. Kyols are omnivores but most have food preferences. For example some kyolites will prefer to eat soft fruits like berries, while the meat lovers will have a preference of whether they like their meat raw or cooked.
Kyolites have developed into an intelligent, empathic race. They are skilled hunters and love to climb. Though most kyolites live in the wild in family groups, there are many that have found satisfying empathic bonds with draki and other empaths and telepaths. To befriend a kyolite is to gain a lifelong friendship full of respect, love, and understanding.

Special Abilities
Can your creatures teleport, or perhaps enhance magic? empathic and telepathic. A kyolites empathy approaches the instictive calming affect shown in the Serenity Lizards only a kyol has no conscious control of that aspect of their gifts. Some have the ability to sense magic but otherwise have no magical ability not even to enhance magic.
