Creature name: Leithir`ier(moondragon).
Homeworld/plane: Sjirra.
Climate/terrain: while they'll do very well in just about any climate, the majority of moondragons prefer deserts and savannas when having a choice about where they would make their settlements. They care little about any having any kind of walls around them, sometimes feeling boxed in even in forests, so those types of terrains suits them quite nicely.
Mental abilities: moondragon intelligence generally range from average to just under genius-level by humans standars. They do have a strong need for freedom however, and will therefore almost never be found in cities or Dragonmountains, traveling and staying where they want to out in the wilds. Another thing that the moondragons are quite well known for, is their ability to judge the true character of a person at first sight, and they have rarely been wrong.
Special Abilities: moondragons can shapechange certainly, and most will learn how to do so. However, they mostly don't feel comfortable in other forms than their own, using the ability to change their size rather than their form more often than not. In the matter of magic, moondragons are relatively proficent, the majority having the inate talent to reach at least wizard-level.

Society: despite of their dislike of cities and the like, the moondragons are quite fond of interacting with and observing other races, frequently befriending those who have a love of freedom and life in the wilds similar to theirs. The base of moondragon society is family groups lead by the oldest mated pair, each group working together with other groups with ranges bordering to theirs. Co-operation between such groups is frequent, and strong bonds between groups are usually formed, disagreements generally being dealt with by the leading pairs and a neutral party from a nearby Dragonmountain.
Description: in older times, the moondragons were one of two dragon types in sjirra having only one pair of legs, with the development of bio-engineering though-- that changed. The body of a moondragon resemble a elongated version of a cheeta's body, lean, but packed with wiry muscle. The head of a moondragon is long and narrow, with a broad forehead, and a long crest resembling that of a pteranodon's extends backwards from the end of the head. Their legs are long and muscular, their front-feet being hand-like and the hind-feet more like those of a raptor's. Moondragon wings are long and narrow, with a extra wing-bone extending from the elbow to provide more stability to the wing, the wing-membrane is usually almost transparent. The skin is nearly always moonwhite, but the rare individual with pale copper or dark brown skin do exist. Unlike other sjirran dragons, the moondragons seem to have blue or green eyes more often than yellow.

Combat: due to their ancestors having been carnivores, moondragons are less averse against killing and violence than other sjirran dragons. They avoid killing if they don't have to certainly, but they will resort to deadly force more quickly than their cousins. They attack in groups whenever possible, and will deal with an enemy quickly and decisively once it have been established that it won't be reasonable and end the attack. Moondragons also have a tendency to use unneccessary force at times, not exactly disliking seeing the effects of a powerfull weapon, though they probably won't admitt it if asked.
