Lenthean Kirin
General Description: distant cousins of the lenthean unicorns, the lenthean kirin was created as a replacement for the terran horses(due to that no terran animals were brought to Lentheas). Small, but sturdy-- a kirin may be mistaken for a small unicorn at a distance, but upon closer inspection it become obvious that there are many differences between the two. While the kirin do have cloven hooves and the body shape is not so different from that of a horse, the head is more like a lenthean dragon's, with a crescent-shaped horn growing from the forehead. Further, the upper part of a kirin is covered by delicate scales, while a coat of long, silky hair grow at its underside. The lenthean kirin also has a long mane resembling that of a lion's, while the tail is long and dragon-like, ending in a tuft of hair.
Although they are certainly beautiful creatures, a kirin isn't smarter than a terran dog, and they are easily trained creatures who develop a fierce loyality to their owner or handler. Kirins come in shades of brown, black, white, grey or a mix of those colors, sometimes with tinges of blue or green in scales or fur, the mixed variety can sometimes be more difficult to handle than the plain colored ones. Mature from the age of five years, a domesticated kirin can become as old as thirty years, while wild kirin rarely become older than fifteen.
