Linsthoth Dragon.

General Description: a very young species, linsthoth dragons were created in a joint effort by a black Grand Mage and a white Mage. But though they were a risky experiment due to the conflicting natures of the magic of their creators, they have became a viable species. Basically a spinosaur made into a dragon, with certain genes added from zthlee dragons and terranians, this dragons species bear a considerable resemblance to their saurian parent species. However, to allow for the addition of wings and the neccessary muscles, the body of a linsthoth dragon is almost twice as long as that of a spinosaur and with a deeper chest. The forelimbs are also longer and better muscled-- making the dragon better suited for moving about on all fours, though they may also walk only at their hind-legs when neccessary. A ridge of small horns runs up the center of the scull, becoming a 'mane' of larger spikes at the start of the neck and ends where the large spinal sail begins. Twice as large as those of a spinosaur, the eyes of a linsthoth dragon are usually a blue-black color, however-- they are quite capable of changing the color and appearance at will. The body of a linsthoth dragon is covered with fairly large and smooth scales, becoming larger at the underside of the neck, body and tail. These scales are extremely tough, and can protect them against most mundane attacks, and even weaker magical ones.
Linsthoth dragon are still subject to strict supervision to catch potential physical or mental faults in time, and so they have not yet been allowed to take on their design purpose as fighters or magic-users. As the species grow more numerous-- colonies are being set up at planets that are judged appropriate by the creators of the linsthoth dragons. Linsthoth dragons were programed with several different color types, each with its own strenghts: silver, onyx, sapphire and grey are male; gold, topaz, quartz and white are female; garnet and opal are neuters. Common linsthoth dragons are all infertile, unless they decide to give up their magic and become a king or a queen, and may then reproduce. Kings and queens are easily distinguished due to that the spines at their head and running down their spines-- these resembling those of a lionfish and banded with a color that contrasts with their primary color. They will also grow considerably larger, often twice as large as their unfertile kin. A fertile male may be refered to as for example a 'silver king', likewise a fertile white would be a 'white queen'.

Special Abilities: male dragons are users of black magic, females are users of white magic. Spesific abilities of each color will be included in their info.

Oddities: due to that the magic used by males and females conflict, a linsthoth dragon may only reproduce if he or she gives up magic completely. This is not an easy choice however, as magic is a huge part of their life and it also require a complex working which can also be quite uncomfortable. However, king and queen linsthoth dragons is granted an immunity to magic, and they can project a null field in a radius of up to ten kilometers around them.

Linsthoth dragons can Bond, and it's often encouraged, but not required.

Is there sex linked traits (like color)?:

Silver: silver linsthoth dragons are always male. Silvers are generally considered the most flexible of the males, and they certainly doesn't have a problem working alongside magic-users of another affiliation. In the art of magic, their strenghts usually lay within the fields of telepathy, telekinesis and teleportation.

Onyx: onyx linsthoth dragons are always male. With a tendency to change their mood at a flip of a coin, onyx linsthoth dragons are far from the easiest to work with-- particulary due to that they won't back away from taking off a limb belonging to someone who annoys them. They excell at most magic, but they do have a certain knack for shapechanging.

Sapphire: sapphire linsthoth dragons are always male. Generaly loners, sapphires prefer to make their homes in the most remote places that they can find. In the rare cases when they do take riders, a sapphire will Bond very closely however. Their strongest talents lay in the areas of hydromancy and electromancy.

Grey: grey linsthoth dragons are always male. Often the least pleasant of the male colors, greys have a reputation for disliking just about anyone and anything good. Most of the time they prefer to use physical methods of fighting, but their are quite talented pyromancers and aeromancers.

Malachite: this is another color that has appeared in the second generation, and they are always male. While not as bad as the grey's, malachites have a tendency to be rather cold and unbending, even towards friends. Often they will also not hesitate to say exactly what they thing, regardless of how much it may hurt someone. While they have the talent for just about any kind of magic, they tend to pick just one area-- like pyromancy, and learn it to perfection.

Gold: gold linsthoth dragons are always female. They are fairly calm creatures who will often go out of their way to help someone, though their 'holier than thou' behaviour can become fairly annoying at times. Golds are usually the most skilled in the field of biomancy.

Topaz: topaz linsthoth dragons are always female. Likely to have more than their share of curiosity, they love nothing more than to travel and explore new places, or learn new things. Therefore, young ones can be quite annoying with their tendency to blast off a 'thousand' questions a minute. Topaz linsthoth dragons are very skilled teleporters, and they also excell at chronomancy and cryomancy.

Quartz: quartz linsthoth dragons are always female. Flexible and the most approcheable of any linsthoth dragon types, quartzes are the most likely to decide to Bond with a rider. Their strongest talent lay in the areas of electromancy, magnetomancy and floramancy.

White: white linsthoth dragons are always female. Rather quiet beings, they will often observe from a distance-- but rarely talking or getting directly involved in something. Of all the female colors, they are also the most likely to accept others for what they are, not caring much about preaching or forcing someone to take on a role that they are not the least suited for. Whites have great talent in the areas of biomancy, geomancy and photomancy.

Pyrite: a color that has appeared in the second generation, pyrites are always female. They tend to be rather exciteable, curious, and tend to be the first at the scene when something interesting happens, which can result in bad incidents. Trained by the right person though, this trait can be tempered as they mature. Not surprisingly, pyrite linsthoth dragon excell in the areas of pyromancy and electromancy.

Garnet: garnet linsthoth dragons are neuter. However, if making the choice to become fertile, they almost always become kings. While skilled magic-users, their strongest talents lay in the areas of umbramancy and gyromancy.

Opal: opal linsthoth dragons are always neuter, at the present-- none have chosen to become fertile. Probably the most powerful of the linsthoth dragons, opals have displayed great skill in all areas of magic, a few are even capable of using both black and white magic.

Ammolite: carefully designed, ammolite is the third of the neuter linsthoth dragons, added in the second generation. Unlike the other colors, they are capable of using the 'lesser' earth magic, gifting them with psychometry and precognition.
