Lri-krorryan

General Description: the Lri-krorryan is a metamorphic race that was created at Earth several thousand years ago, as the result of a curse cast by a young black Mage against the inhabitants of a village. While the nature of the curse did not seem so terrible at first, it soon forced the people of the village to leave their homes
and become wanderers-- only occationaly visiting other tribes and villages. Among the Lri-krorryan, the women never keep their children-- instead leaving them with human families when only hours old, to be raised by true humans without any knowledge of their kind. This may appear cruel, but the curse leaves the Lri-krorryan with no other choice.
From they are newly born to puberty, all Lri-krorryan looks like ordinary humans, and having grown up in a human family-- they have no reason whatsoever to believe otherwise. However, when puberty come-- so does the change. Within days or weeks after the hormones of puberty enters the body, a Lri-krorryan child will turn into one of three creatures; a dragon(western-type), a chimaera or a selkie. As the child don't have any previous knowledge about his or her true nature, this change is almost always extremely traumatic-- especially due to that he or she also get the instinct of the beast s/he has became while still retaining human intelligence and emotions. Unfortunatly no Lri-krorryan can be prepared for the Change, as this will prevent it from taking place-- the child quickly becoming ill and dying within a few months after the Change should have taken place.
Due to the horror of the Change and the instincts comming with the new shape; dragons and chimaeras will instinctively hunt and eat humans among other creatures, selkies must spend most of their time far out at sea and during spring-- the breeding instincts of the males are particulary strong, most Lri-krorryan will grow cold and ruthless. A common practice among many Lri-krorryan is to locate and kill unrelated younglings of their kind before they Change, but if this is because they want to spare the youngling from suffering or just instinct is uncertain.

Special Abilities: Lri-krorryan must spend most of their time in their changed form after the Change, as they are only capable of shifting at Midsummer and Midwinter-- occationally also during full moon or Eclipses. They are also capable of communicating telepathically.
Dragons are capable of breathing fire and spitting acid. Chimaeras generate enough heat to burn anything within two meters of them to cinder and they also have limited teleportation abilities. Selkies can breathe underwater and call winds and storms, as well as change sea-currents.

Oddities: all Lri-krorryan change into human form within seconds after being born, they are also immune to the powrs of the parent for almost a day after the birth.

Mental Abilities: while Lri-krorryan retains the level of intelligence they had while human, as well as everything they have learned-- they often suffer from the overpowering instincts that come after the Change. However, knowing that they are not invulnerable, they are also sly, cunning and can successfully surpress those instincts when the situation require it. No Lri-krorryan is likely to go on a mindless killing spree, they choose their prey with care.

Breeding.
How often can the creature get pregnant: once a year for selkies. Every three years for dragons and chimaeras.
