Maetcae'hirin

General Description: genetically engineered using the manta ray as a base, the maetcae'hirin still look very similar to their ancestors externaly. However, the first difference are their size-- a female maetcae'hirin can have a wingspan of over 15 meters and then there's of-course the fact that the females of the species usually have a mottled silver, red or amethyst hide, the males are black or green(the undersize is usually much lighter). Capable of levitation as well as increase their speed telekinetically, the maetcae'hirin can easily move both in and out of water, although there`s a limit to how far they can move inland as they can`t survive for long in fresh water. Although originally created to assist boats and ships out at sea, the maetcae'hirin has long since taken on a more important role in society-- being those who have the main responsibility in looking after the oceans where they live, usually no extensive traveling or fishing may take place without the permission of the maetcae'hirin.

Special Abilities: the inate abilities of the maetcae'hirin is levitation, telekinesis and telepathy. Some also have a talent for true magic and can therefore become magic-users.
