Creature Name: Jal’Asim (great protectors)
General Description
From the Great Desert of Dai’Wadeeya the Jal’Asim(commonly called Sandhounds) are a very rare beast. They are ‘birthed’ by the frequent sandstorms in the desert but rarely ‘live’ past the storms duration. The only instances where Jal’Asim can outlive their birth storm are if a suitable humanoid is caught in the storm and is on the verge of death. Only if their potential bondmate is in danger can one of the Jal’Asim be released from the grips of the storms to walk the mortal world as mortals now themselves.
Jal’Asim, it has been discovered, are typically as long-lived as the Great Desert itself with only the rare few choosing to leave that lifespan behind to help and bond with a person. Where they come from is not agreed upon by any speculators, only those bonded to the rare few know the truth. Many think they are from another plane of existence while others claim they are always in the desert but only made visible by the flying sand in the storms.
Only recently has a breeding program been set up for the now mortal Jal’Asim and so slowly more is being learned about them. Up until somebody actually had a pair of Sandhounds it was believed they didn’t even breed!
Sandhounds have a long narrow head with a slightly tapered muzzle. Their neck is long and muscular and the front legs are perfectly straight. They have muscular thighs and round feet with short, dark nails. The Sandhound's tail is medium-length, reaching to the point of the hock. Its eyes are round and usually dark. The ears are naturally pointed not cropped. All Jal’Asim have short, thick, shiny, close-fitting hair. The color of the fur varies widely depending on the sand near their home.
The lifespan of Jal’Asim can vary widely. It depends completely on whether they are wild or mortal. Wild Sandhounds can live for an undetermined amount of time if unbonded. After bonding they typically live only 200 years more and their bond lengthens the life of their bondmate to that as well. Mortal Sandhounds like their wild relatives it is assumed will live approximately 200 years after bonding as well but has not yet been confirmed as the breeding program only started 10 years ago.

Special Abilities
Can your creatures teleport, or perhaps enhance magic?: Jal’Asim can Travel disappearing in a small sandy whirlwind. Also they are telepathic but normally only speak with their kind, their bondmates, and those their bondmate trusts. They have power over the winds and sands of their home.

Does this creature need to bond? Yes/No: no
If yes, when?: when their potential bond mate is near death if bonding in the Great Desert; or if born mortal at any time although if they do not bond by their fifth year they will go wild and return to the Great Desert.

Creature Name: Lycan Faeries
General Description
Lycan Faeries depending on the time of day--or night—are either small enough to fit in your pocket or ride on your shoulder(night) or are large enough for you to ride on(day). Lycan Faeries were, up until recently, an unknown creature on their home planet, Dai’Wadeeya. Apparently they had been hiding in the forests away from humans who they were afraid would use them for unsavory tasks: i.e. spies while in their smaller form or beasts of burden while larger. Once they considered humans beyond their corrupt stage of civilization they made themselves know. Lycan Faeries look like regular wolves except for the fact they have wings. The wings are shaped like dragon’s wings but they are covered with a lighter shade of fur than the rest of their body. Also on their wings different earth tones (like green or red) tip the end of their fur.

All Lycan Faeries can change their size but depending on the hints of color on their wings they can affect living things in similar ways to the season their color represents.

their larger form. If two seasons interbreed the cubs will be
one season or the other. Very rarely, a single cub will be born
to a mated pair. When this happens it is normally an All Season
and will have all colors on their wings and all the abilities of
the regular four seasons.
