Creature Name: Mutt
General Description
A Mutt is a combination of a Dragon, a Horse, and a Dog. Sounds kind of strange right? Well it looks kind of strange too. The Mutt is approximately the size of a Beagle dog but it has the feet and tail of a horse, the wings and head of a dragon and it barks instead of roars. Nobody really knows how the Mutt was created but it is assumed that some loony wizard’s spell backfired when he had 2 beagles, 2 horses, and 2 Pernese dragons in his study (nobody has fessed up yet). Anyway the Mutt started with just one breeding pair but since they lay clutches like dragons they have quickly multiplied. Mutts are very friendly and love to cuddle up on the couch with their bond-mates, or whine at them for attention if you won’t let them on the couch.

Creature name: Dai'Wadeeyan Sphinx - not bondable, only one left, location unknown
Created by:
Maira (MidnightDreamer)
General Info:
Guardians of the desert and mountain passes, the Sphinx were a dying race. They lived long and bred slow. By the time the last male died only three females remained: one lion type, one tiger type and one leopard type. The three females gathered to mourn the loss of their last male but when that was finished, they came up with a plan to try and save their race: they would breed out.
Anymore, most griffons were too proud to want to bother helping the sphinx, most actually considered the sphinx a mistake in the first place. The humans however weren’t nearly as rude and much easier to convince. Since the sphinx guarded the desert and mountain passes any human that wanted to pass had to answer a riddle. In old times if the human failed to answer the riddle correctly the sphinx would change into a great beast and the human would be eaten. With the new plan that the three females had come up with if the riddle was answered incorrectly the men had two choices: one, breed with the sphinx in her human form; or two, get eaten. Needless to say the men chose the first option.
Since humans breed much faster than sphinx each time this breeding would occur a child would result, up to once a year. Unfortunately, in the sphinx eyes, these children were not quite like their mothers. Instead of having the body of a big cat they had the body of a human. Also, with the exception of their tail, all fur had disappeared from their bodies although the color patterns still tinted the skin and determined their hair color.
Shortly after this plan was put into effect the two oldest females died. This left the lone lioness sphinx to finish alone. Each sphinx had borne 100 offspring, one each year since the male’s death, and their numbers were growing steadily. When she was certain that her and her companions’ children were not in any danger of dying out the last sphinx left the planet in search of a wizard who could create her a mate. To this day she still searches the universe to no avail.
