OOC: the description for the mejelern whers can be found in the 'Shadow's Pernese Draconics' thread.
Also, I would like to say that the names of mejelern whers does NOT end in -sk, a few might, but they are the exception rather than the rule. Mejelerns can be quite particular about choosing a name, and they are not likely to choose a name too similar to that of another wher.
IC.
Found on the southern coast of Sjirra, well away from most civilization except for a small village a few kilometers away, the small beach and the grassy field in the forest just behind it was a rather nice place. And now, with the suns glaring down from the almost cloudfree sky and various avians playing or hunting out over the water, it was much like a scene taken from a terran picture card.
But most importantly, it was just the right place for the resident pack of mejelern whers to lay their clutches. The eggs would be safe burried in the sand of the beach, prey was plentiful both on land and in the sea, and the people in the village nearby provided help when neccessary.
However, the number of mejelern whers in the pack had began to grow too close to the limit of what the area could safetly support, and it had decided that the hatchlings from the most recent clutch would have to be taken somewhere else.
In addition to that, some of the mated pairs had decided that they wished to transfer to new territories as well.
And as she had experience in handling hatchings involving offworlder candidates, Sakujna and her bonds from Tekaini Kiak has been invited to supervise the Hatching and handle the invitations.
Having lived in rented quarters in the nearby village for the last couple of days, the djearian dragonrider and her companions had spent the last few days getting to know the individuals in the pack and preparing for the Hatching. And when they were summoned by Apreja, pack mathriarch and clutch dam, just after midday-- Sakujna and the others took only minutes to arrive.
The eggs were going to hatch, and there was still guest to sent invitations to and other things that needed to be prepared in time-- like food and refreshments for everyone. And so, Sakujna was quite glad that she had a large number of friends and companions to aid her. Alone she would have been much too nervous to prepare everything with the assistance of the folk of the village, most of whom she barrely knew.
::Ah, I'm sure that you would manage:: a deep voice chuckled in her mind, ::but of-course it gets done much faster and efficently with our help. I, for one, can fly circles around those oversized native dragons::
Her third eyelid closing over her silver-green eyes as she looked up, Sakujna grinned wryly as two silver dragons appeared in the sky-- one having just teleported and the other simply 'deactivating' his shadowing ability. One, the oldest of the two, was the life and death dragon queen Sashi, and the other-- the one who had spoken, was the silver panthran dragon Sahan. Both dragons carried baskets which Sashi informed her of contained food and drinks, both kept cool with a spell cast by one of the magic-users back at the village.
::Pernese Kazinth is back at the village. Most of the carpets and chairs the villagers promised to let us borrow aren't quite ready yet, and Kazinth will bring it as soon as it is:: Sashi said as she and Sahan landed. And once the baskets had been set in the shadows, with the white wher Veli and one of the mejelern whers watching, the two dragon turned back to Sakujna.
"The mejelerns are getting a bit impatient, they are saying that it's probably not more than an hour or so till the first egg is going to hatch. Could you organize the firelizards, miniflitts and the rest, and get the invitations to those we decided would make good candidates at this Hatching?" she asked. Though the entry passes that would be sent along with the invitations would ensure that the guests would arrive at the time she set, she still couldn't help but be a bit nervous.
::No problem at all:: Sahan said quickly, ::we know where you keep the invitations, and Sashi knows how to set the times for the entry passes. We'll also make sure that everyone you wrote a invitation for will get one, I claim Panthran however::
Sakujna grinned, but didn't say anything.
They were always so busy with their studying back at Tekaini Kiak, and there was so many places to visit in Sjirra, so it was a long time since Sahan had gotten the opportunity to visit the world of his parents.
Just a few minutes later, three dragons and several other creatures left the beach-- teleporting away from Sjirra to deliver the messages they had been given.
Messengers.
Panthranian silver Sahan.
Silver life and death dragon queen Sashi.

Yellow illian dragon Krocka.

Brown firelizard Deir.
Black heirolan flitt Harin.

Bathing in the sea after a hard phospherence birthing, Platinum and Orion were interupted by a Purple miniflitt. Climbing to Orion's back, She reached out for the flit, holding her arm so it could land. She stroked it as she took the note from it. "Oh! A Mejelern Wher hatching! We must go, we have been invited after all" she grinned as Orion snorted.
After getting dried and offering the flit some fod, Platinum was ready. She jumped to Orion's back and they took off, following the flit.
Arriving at the hatching, Platinum scrambled down and entered. "I recieved the message from this little darling and have come to attempt to bond. Am I welcome?" she smiled at those gathered there.

Elessia walked in, after flying in on one of her twin white queen dragons, "I have recieved my invite, may I stand?" she asked, hopefully, hoping that she would be able to. She had always wanted to go one of these hatchings, as she was always interested in other dragonic types and of course, to find and make new friends with bonds. she waited, nervously anxious for their decision to her question, twisting her pristine white robe nervously. she felt her nerves abait, as she felt her white queen and her twin calmly reassuring her.

OOC: hey folks, I'm sure that you can do better than a one line reply. Write a bit about your character receiving the invitation and deciding to go, and which of your character's bonds that will accompany him or her.
Please remember this rule--
5. Try to make your posts at least 5 lines long to give those you're playing with something to reply to. One liner posts will not be accepted.

Greeting the first arrival with a smile and a nod, Sakunja stepped aside as the wher pack walked onto the beach lead by their matriarch. She would have to inform the candidates and other guests about where to find the food and drinks soon, as well as giving them certain guidelines. However, first Apreja would have to approve of the candidates.
Largest of her pack both in bulk and lenght, Apreja was a impressive sight as she stepped forwards followed by one of her gold daughters who had not yet left the pack to establish her own. Then she stopped in front of Platinum, looking down at the young woman who had just presented herself as a candidate.
::You will be acceptable:: she finally said, ::though the final decition will be up to my children. Any disrespect to them or my pack will not be accepted, remember that[I]::

Niade flew into Hazalinia's study with the news of a messenger from Sjirra. Hazel went to meet the messenger and was surprised to see a panthranian silver. "Sahan, it's wonderful to see you. I hope you plan to visit a little while you're here. I know Windrace and Keyana would love to show off their clutch." Hazel listened to the information about the hatching. "I know my daughter would love to go, she's living with Tygress now. I'll send Niade to them so you have some extra time."
Niade grumbled at having to play messenger but deep down she was happy to be able to see Bladenia. Bladenia had company the Panth Ravi, but she happily welcomed Niade who she remembered fondly as having taken great care over her as a baby and toddler. *It is so strange seeing you grown so soon. Darn traveling,* Niade complained. Bladenia laughed as it was a complaint shared by her entire family. "Mejelern whers? Soudns interesting. Tell mother I'm going, and thanks for coming Niade."
In the end Bladenia and Ravi arrived with Aletheanathan and Kantlarienijstrathi both in their human forms. Theana was pale skinned with silver-blue hair and and she kept her copper flecked scarlet eyes. She was dressed in dark blue. Kant was black skinned with silver hair dressed in black and silver. Bladenia was in black leather pants and a vest of black and midnightblue suede patches with a white blouse. Ravi was in his usual dark brown leather and a simple light brown linen shirt.
Having landed a distance from the clutch they approached respectfully. "We recieved word from the silver Panthranian Sahan of this hatching. We hope to be found worthy," Bladenia said speaking for the group though she wasn't sure if the two dragons wished to be candidates or not. She's always considered Theana too distant for a bond of her own, and Theana was Kant's only bond, though the relationship was more apprentice and master.

OOC: My sincere and deepest apologies for my sudden and unexplained absense. Two events had major affects on my personal life...
1) After staying home and being a housewife for over a year, I decided to try and find a new job...and in less than a month...I got one. I am back to being a Security Guard and my new schedule (3rd shift, 4 ten hour days), does not leave me with much free time for rp'ing.
2) About ten days after I started my new job, I picked up a virus which crashed my computer. It has taken me this long to get my system up and running again. It took a while, because my husband had to remove the virus piece by piece so I wouldn't lose all my data. Removing a virus 'by hand' is extremely time consuming and tedious, but he did it for me anyway, and his schedule is more hectic than mine (12 hour days), which is why it took so long.
Now it's just a matter of me getting caught up with everything...which will probably take a while...so I ask for a bit of patience from everyone while I get back up to speed. So here we go.....

The unexpected arrival of a silver life and death dragon queen at Spice Castle caused quite a stir amongst it's residents. As the silver queen landed, she was met by a very large assortment of dragons and other creatures. Mind sendings went out with as many emotions as there were creatures...questions and comments, warnings and welcomes...but mostly feelings of curiosity were directed at the new arrival.
Before the situation could turn into nothing but chaos, a large dragoness landed between the silver queen and the confusing horde, bugeling for attention. The dragoness was a stunning violet color with a bright silver sheen who could be identified as a Brione Caeddrhy queen. The horde came to a respectful attention as the violet dragoness broadbeamed a sending so that all could hear.
>*< Greetings visitor >*< she sent, >*< I am Lotheryolana, senior queen of the Spice Castle dragon clan. I welcome you in peace. Word of your arrival has been sent to our bondmate and ruler, Lady Cinnamin of Clan Spice. How may the Spice Clan assist you? >*<
After the introductions were made and the reason for the silver queens arrival were known, the activity level of the castle staff and the assorted creatures increased tenfold. Several types of humanoids and multiple species of creatures hurried to prepare everything necessary for another multi-dimensional trip by their well liked bondmate. What would look like chaos to an outsider, was actually a well rehersed routine for this castle's unusual staff...Lady Cinnamin travelled to other dimensions on a regular basis.
In the midst of the preperations, another dragon arrived mid-air before spiralling in for a landing. Deepest midnite black with a silver sheen, marked the new arrival as an adamantium Meridian Battle Dragon queen. >< I am Night Star, bondmate to the archmage Datan >< she sent to the life and death queen, >< Lady Cinnamin sent word to us as well, so you will not need to fly elsewhere before guiding us to the hatching ><.
In a very short time, everything was ready and the three dragons launched themselves into the sky and passed thru the first of the many gateways that would take them on their journey. The trip was uneventful and the three travellers and two riders arrived at the hatching ground.
After thanking the silver queen for her guidance and sending Lotheryolana and Night Star off to sun on the beach, Cinnamin and Datan went looking for the hatching hostess, Sakujna.
In appearance, the two candidates could not be more unalike. Cinnamin was a fairy; four feet tall with multi-colored gossamer wings that were as wide as the fairy was tall. She had skin the color of fresh cream, blue hair and tiny four-fingered hands. She was dressed in a pastel blue silk gown trimmed with diamonds and pearls, with dainty blue satin slippers on her tiny feet. Datan was an elf; over six feet tall with long white hair and a noticable scar running down the right side of his face from hairline to jaw. His skin was pale enough to resemble that of a corpse and a dull black headband, set with a glowing ruby in the center was visibly imbedded around his brow. He was dressed in robes of black velvet, embroidered with mystical symbols and runes in real mithril thread, gleaming black leather boots graced his long slender feet.
"Greetings Sakujna and thank you for the invitation" Cinnamin said with a bow. "I am Lady Cinnamin of Clan Spice and Duchess of Spice Castle from the pocket dimension of Meridian."
"I offer my thanks as well" said Datan, as he also bowed, "and offer my congratulations on the clutch. I am the archmage Datan, War Wizard and Headmaster of the Meridian Academy."

*bump*
did you forget about this one Shadow?
Shadow- 04-19-2005
OOC: afraid so.
And I appologize for the short post.
IC.
::It has been a long time since I have been able to visit, so yes:: Sahan said, nodding, ::and I look forwards to seeing my relatives::
The silver panthran raised his head to sniff at the air, yes-- it had been much too long. No doubt there would be a lot of catching up to do, but he did hope that he would get a chance to see more of this world too.
Sakujna decided to wait in the background when the next groups of candidates arrived, it seemed like Apreja wanted to speak to the potential caretakers of her children. And Sakujna was certainly not going to do anything to offend the matriarch.
For a long time, the golden wher studied the candidates silently as she walked around them-- no doubt taking note of who was what they appeared to be, and who that was not. But finally she came to a stop, turning her shimmering eyes towards the clutch, grumbling a few commands to some of the adult whers.
::Go to the eggs, all of you-- you are suitable. Very soon now...::
Shortly afterwards, cracks spread across the surface of one of the eggs which had wobbled its way up out of the sand. And then a sturdy black hatchling with grey wing-tips tumbled out as the egg fell apart.
