Mirin.

General Description: the mirin is a race of sapient, semi-draconic beings native to Arkenin-- a dyson-sphere built around a sun in the same universe as our Earth. Although their appearance is quite like that of a typical western dragon, the mirin are only 6-9 feet tall and their arms and legs is very like those of a humanoids, they also have taloned hands rather than claws. While mirin do not have wings, they are swift and endurant runners and they are also excellent climbers and swimmers. In fights with beings of similar size, there are few other races who can match the mirin when it come to the art of fighting. Despite that their race live quite secluded from the other races at Arkenin, the mirin who possess more sociable spirits often take jobs as guards, mercenaries or mages for those who are willing to pay the right amount of money. Basically, the mirin society are a patriarchal one, where the males are considered superior to the females, but in higher-ranking families, it does happen that females are given the same opportunities as their brothers. Particullary strong or intelligent females may also be able to attain high ranks in many guilds, although female fighters are rare.

Special Abilities: some telepathy and telekinesis, they can also have some empathic abilities.

Oddities: almost all mirin are vulnerable to mind-control, particulary when they are young. Any telepath with the will and knowledge can form a telempathic bond to a unprotected mirin-- newly hatched or juvenile, controlling it through that bond.
