Falcon, good to see you! *Glomp.* I should write a reply myself, get a little more activity, I went temporarily MIA during the holidays... Hectic times, eh folks?

Valihi Wingsecond- 12-26-2004
Excitement coursed through my veins, forming butterflies the size of eagles in my stomach. I held my weight on the balls of my feet, stance shifted slightly to the left, aged leather boots scuffing the sand. I wiggled my toes, briefly pausing to observe the broad crack runing across the toe of the right boot, evidence of what happened when one played too ruffly with a pair of Prairie Cats. Archer and Radella could be rough, when they got excited.
Tessa, Asthorié caught my attention, dragging my wandering mind from memories with the rushing warble that was the Eldari translation of my name.
"Right, the hatching," I started, embarassed that my mind had wandered, even briefly. A nervous hand strayed from contentedly caressing the curved angles behind Asthorié's lyre-shaped horns, running through the sharply curling waves of my hair, ruffling the chestnut mane until it rested near my shoulders. I needed to relax, but nerves simply would not allow me to. Hatchings, the chance to bond marvelous creatures like these, always put me on edge...
My eyes shifted of their own accord back to the peridot Caeddrhy, but my eyes widened with shock and embarassment as I noticed a distinct, familiar winged dragonet slinking towards the hatchling.
"Machere!" I cried before I could stop myself, springing from Asthorié's side to dash after the daring Thyraswlhd as he snuck across the sands, his head weaving side to side in curiosity. "Get back here! I'm quite certain you're not supposed to bother him..."
The dark creature merely flicked his tongue at me and continued on his stalking way. Little hellion. Lovable, but a hellion to the marrow...
I want to know why he's hesitating... the youngling tried to justify himself. A coughing growl fo objection was pressed from his chest as I finally caught up to the most impetuous of my Caeddrhy bonds, seizing him from the heated sands - no easy task when I myself weighed in at only one hundred fifteen pounds soakig wet, barely topping 5'3" for height - with a short struggle and kicking of limbs. Hey!
"So sorry..." I murmured quickly, addressing myself to no one in particular as I tried to haul Machere arev Dechalle from the sand, mentally regretting allowing him to tag along on this hatching. He just would not sit still...
"Especially so to you, youngling," I paused, looking over my shoulder at the confused-looking peridot Mahkkir, fearing Machere had managed to adle the poor dragonet's chance of bonding.

Evinne noted the next arrivals first of the mothers and nodded in way of reply. Rylnehra, next nearest to the Satin dragoness snorted at her and turned to address Mitexi. *The honor is ours that you would bless this day of our offspring with your presence.* Her mental voice was soft and calm, her cool tones including all those present in her welcome and indicating similar accord from the others.

It was then that the second egg hatched and Rylnehra was brought sharply to attention, snapping her head back to gaze with loving anticipation at the new hatchling of her blood. The hatchling that spilled out was a pale and smoky plum, a young Air dragoness of the Everlands. Her equally smoky eyes, which among her kind cleared within the first seconds of hatching, remained a clouded grey. She cried out piteously, turning to the sun, apparently able to distinguish light from shadow though little else beyond that. She looked quickly away, blinking her lids furiously and crying out again, the cry racking her small frame.

Zrln's reply to Platinum was cut short by the hatchlings arrival and he was hard-pressed not to rush to the dragonet's aid, leaving the field clear for the candidates.

Azarsha's attentions were pulled from Maira as a dragonet creeled, her egg burst into shards about her. There was obviously something wrong with the dragonet - she wasn't responding as the others had, thus far. Glancing around desperately, Azarsha raised her hands - would no one help the youngling?
"Excuse me," She breathed to the woman who had been speaking to her, then moved across the grounds towards the hatchling, murmurring soothingly.

Amidst the appearance of the second hatchling, Syres saw the next two candidates turn out with bonds in toe, nearly simultaneous in the arrival. She recognized predominantly the dainty form of long ago friend, and smiled, moving towards her. “Well met, Cinnamin. I take it you and your ever-growing horde are well?” She bowed then to Lotheryolana, the queen who had held host to the hatching at which the two had met and become friends. *Your sisters young are well and Advena soon to rising for a third time,* she added to the Caeddrhy queen. “I take it you’ve come to lure more of my homeland’s children into your midst?” Her voice teased where her words did not, a small smile playing at her calm expression.

It was made apparent, in the moments to follow, that the hatchlings would leave no room for exchange between guests. With a flurry of brightly colored shards, three mores hatchlings emerged onto the scene. The first of these was another Caeddrhy, light brass in a most Dyth coloration, and with a mind to tell all what she was about. Appearing more sedately than the Caeddrhy dragonet was a soft beauty of the Kilkerith Dragons. Her hide was a canvas of topaz shades; pinks, yellows and blues playing merrily across her lithe body. She eyed all those surrounding with a calculating curiosity, her gaze willing them to come nearer. The only words she offered them was a soft pronouncement of her name, *I am Poulmynithe, daughter of the Kilkerith… Who among you would call me their own?*

Last of these three an Aestre Lizard. He fell from his shell with a tiny cry of surprise, lapis hide both bright and dim all at once. He batted furiously with translucent wings, fanning himself into an erect position which he quit obviously preferred to his floundering in the sands and shards of egg-shell.

<<EDIT>>
OOC: Eew, I just noticed my disgusting redundancy; terribly sorry about that, Cinn. *stalks off muttering something like "'I take it,' 'I take it'.... how droll"*

OOC:Maira-- I'll send you the sheets as soon as I have transferred them to the computer. Granted somethings may change and some are not even written; such as the deformity of the Everland dragonet. And you have half of the Pernese Firelizard clutch to dictate to your choice of hatchlings.

The hatchling turned his head at the sound of Saiyuri's approach. At this point he was situated more comfortably and was clucking over his tail which he had curled about him so that he could examine it for himself. He sniffed heartily, making much of it when there was so little to be concerned with. He gurgled, then, positively basking in her attention. *But you would speak to me,* he pointed out.

The Caeddrhy dragonet slewed his head about sharply, sensing the approach of another of his kind, drawing it back in startlement. When the bondmate of the Thyraswlhd intervened he merely stared, blinking. Though he had, the little Mahkkir gave no signs of having heard Tessa. Instead he watched with doubled curiosity her daring bondmate who seemed equaly curious about him. *What do you want, cousin?*

Still shuddering with her own dismay, the Everland hatchling turned her head slowly at the soft murmur of Azarsha's reassurances. She cooed in response trying to follow the woman's approach by sound and shadow, only recently accustomed to these senses. *Who are you? What are you? Why can I not see?* Each question was asked with mounting discomfort. She sighed, resigned even before she was answered, and decided to -*test*-('") her wings instead of her vision, shaking them lightly. One, she noticed with a fresh howl, was slightly askew, though not dangerously so. *Help me,* she pleaded.

Maira- 12-28-2004
OOC: ack holiday stuff...family stuff...anyway its all taken care of, i'm home now so i'll be able to post again.

Saiyuri smiled as she watched the peridot Caeddrhy sniff at his tail. When finally he turned to look at her and he spoke Saiyuri's smile grew even greater. *Yes little one, I most certainly would.* As she watched him Saiyuri felt a great urge to ask if she could be his chosen but not wanting to push him she just offered, *Little man, I have some food if you would like something to eat.* Reaching out her hand towards him she dared to hope, maybe just maybe he would want her.

Tigrelliyth- 12-28-2004
Azarsha watched as the dragonet turned her head, apparently searching for Azarsha through clouded eyes. Settling to her knees near the confused dragonet, Azarsha reached a gentle hand out to run it across the baby's face, watching as she stretched her wings, only to find one askew. *I'm here, little one - my name is Azarsha, and I will help you, if you like. I don't know why you can't see, but I can help with your wing...* Reaching, she ran her fingers lightly across the wing, then used both hands to straighten the wry limb. *There - that should help with that. It was only bent from being curled in your shell. Are you hungry? I can find you food, I should think...*

"Bright blessings, friend Syres" Cin replied as she greeted her friend with a hug and a laugh, "the 'horde' is as well as ever. Thank you for the invitation to another Caeddrhy hatching...Lotheryolana wouldn't forgive me if I missed it. She is determined to be a clan matriarch and queen of all my dragon bonds."

<<Am I not entitled to be a queen? I am after all, the eldest of your bonds>> Lotheryolana said proudly...<* It is good to know that the rest of my sisters' offspring are doing well. Those that live at Spice Castle grow large and well also. But now we come to see if more would like to join us...hatchlings or adult.*>

As the commotion on the sands increased, Cin and Lotheryolana turned their attention back to the business at hand. Together they sent thoughts of welcome and love to all those who searched for a new bondmate.

The little peridot hatchling swung back around to gaze once more at Saiyuri. He stretched his neck, sniffing briefly at the offered meat then looked up at her, his head cocked. *It is not food I want… At least not yet,* he admitted as his stomach gave a loud pro-*test*-('"). Abruptly he decided to address her earlier question, *I’ve not been long out of my shell, but I have been waiting… too long, I’ve waited. Who are you?* His question seemed to include Tessa as he looked between the two.

Valihi Wingsecond- 12-29-2004
My mouth went dry as I heard the curious voice in my mind, and every muscle seemed to slacken as my retreating attempt to return Machere to the sidelines halted. I looked over my shoulder, hardly noticing as Machere managed to escape my loose arm, slinking back toward the peridot Mahkkir.
I want to know why you hesitating, it didnt' make sense to me... Machere drawled brazenly, stretching his neck out to touch noses with the hatchling, experimentally sniffing at the newborn.
Still attempting to speak, not daring to reach out the the Caeddrhy with the whirling, chaotic torrent my mind had suddenly become, I noted the way Saiyuri reached out to the hatchling, tender hopefulness in her eyes. She seemed to be reaching out to young one, wishing, yearning, and guilt twitched at my heartstrings. She wanted the peridot dragonet as much as I did, and seemed to have little companionship of her own as yet... I distanced myself slightly from the young one, a half-step back, though I allowed Machere to remain face to face with his cousin-of-sorts.
"My name is Tessa, and I have come to bring wonderous beings like yourself into my company," I whispered, crouching down in a small attempt to put myself beyond notice. There were other Caeddhry eggs here, perhaps the peridot was meant for Saiyuri, and my own bonds lay elsewhere...

Falcon Muse- 12-29-2004
The hatchling winced, trying to suppress another cry, as Azarsha straightened the wing. *Thank you,* she sighed, leaning into the girl’s touch. *Yes, I think I am hungry.* Unseeing, she stared up at Azarsha, her mind reaching out. She let out a soft squeal after a moment, a truly jubilant sound. *Mine, I can see… My, is that what I look like?*

Zrln came up behind the pair just then, laying a hand gently on Azarsha’s shoulder. “Meat?” he offered, proffering a platter of juicy tidbits. He smiled and walked over to the proud parents, who grumbled their approval at the bonding.

Tigrelliyth- 12-29-2004
Azarsha felt the hatchling's touch, gentle against her mind, and quickly offered her sight to the youngster. *Yes - aren't you lovely?* she smiled warmly at Zrln, accepting the offered meat without words, still enjoying the hatchling's wonder at her appearance. *Food?* Azarsha held up a tidbit of meat, snatching her fingers back as the hatchling accepted with veracity. *What's your name, little one?*
