OOC: Many pardons for my undue absence and the length and tediousness of my post- I could hardly resist hatching this many at once.

IC:
Syres smiled when another candidate arrived, gratefully letting Maira welcome him. Her smile grew as she watched three more of Ecantra and Gamble’s clutch hatch, immediately claiming the newcomer. “Congratulation,” she said, moving into view. “I think it only fair that we should warn you; you’ve quite the handful with three of this clutch, they’re not quite on the same lines as your typical firelizard, their dam’s clutch was altered.” She knew that if Ecantra didn’t make some statement about the Impression of her young, the newly hatched firelizards certainly would make their feelings – hunger most prominent – known. Pressing her fingers to her eyes, she sat down on the ground; she hadn’t predicted that the hatching would be so tiring, and all she’d done was stand around and help with food for the hatchlings.

The two hatchlings currently on the sands were soon to be joined by others as no less than dozen eggs abruptly hatched. Joining the lone Everland Fire dragon were a Water and a second Fire. The Water hatchling’s hide was a deep and alluring green-blue of particularly oceanic tones. She moved across the sands with fluid grace, eyes darting from face to face of those gathered around on the beach. Decidedly taken with her still unbonded clutchmate, the newly hatched Fire dragoness hissed at other hatchlings as she moved to crouch beside the male Fire. The female’s colorations were quite similar to the other’s though of darker hues; a glowing amber with neat patterning of burgundy.

The Kilkerith Dragon clutch hatched four more eggs, yielding five dragonets. The first of the four eggs produced twin, though one would never guess by their coloring. The slightly larger of the two was deep silver flecked randomly with pale blue-lavender, while her twin was soot black with dustings of emerald and brass. The sisters, not moving from the remnants of their shells, seemed unaware of the large audience, chirping to one another all the while fanning their wings and stretching. The third hatchling, quite obviously full of herself, had a hide of the purest cerulean. She daintily picked bits of eggshell from her hide, attempting to dislodge a particularly large shard from atop her head. Crouched in her half-broken shell, the next hatchling was barely visible, evidently trying to make herself avert attention from herself. This shy one was a soft beauty of dove grey, white, lavender and red-rose, the last standing out prominently along her spine and randomly across her wingsails. Lastly of these Kilkerith eggs hatched a King. The young male was a dark sapphire and as he tossed his gleaming head from one side to another, it was clear that he was well aware of his ‘sovereignty‘.
++++++
Gorinoeth’s head shot up from its resting place atop her forelimbs as she eyed three of her eggs that were now rocking with asperity, one of which was the largest of the clutch. The eggs simultaneously burst apart, four new Caeddrhy dragonesses tumbling elegantly from their shells. With fiery red-orange patterning tattooing her face a lithe Faeddhe scrambled to a standing position, immediately taking to ‘dance’ around her clutchmate. Regarding her pale gold sibling with a bland gaze, tainted slightly with a gleam of contempt in her eyes, the Dyth merely sat where she hatched, a snow-white beauty much like her dam but for the pinky copper tones that faded in and out across her hide.

Utterly unaware of their surroundings twin Brionnes stared at each other, making small sounds that even their clutchmates could not identify for the language that it was. The darker of the two, seemingly smaller than her bright sister, twitched her tail rhythmically, suddenly taking note of how the sun reflected on the pewter that flecked her deep plum hide. The other Brionne seemed to have noticed it at the same instant, turning her head slowly at different angles, as well reveling in the reflection of the sun. Her hide was a radiant platinum, the fain-*test*-('") sprinkling of pale amethyst dashed across it. Fanning her wings, the platinum Queen abruptly stood, eyes on the candidates, only now fully conscious of their presence.

Hand placed lightly atop Gorinoeth’s pure white head, Fulcarea exchanged a glance with Syres from across the beach. She had attended Gorinoeth’s hatching to witness the hatching of twin Brionnes, which appeared to be the legacy of her bloodline, as well as twin Dellrhudorawyns. Cinnamin’s own Lotheryalona was a Brionne twin of the deceased Dellrhudorawyn who had clutched Gorinoeth and her siblings. Remembering this, neither Rhea nor Syres would have been surprised if more twin Queens would be clutched from their line. Indeed many of the clutches here this day were subject to oddities among their own species.
++++++
The last three eggs to hatch of this dozen were Satin, and all three baring the inborn gift of shape-shifting. A miniature of his sire, a brown fought his way from the confines of his shell, the taupe and midnight markings that marked him as an animal shapeshifter just visible upon his emergence before he claimed the form of a small fox, black in color but for one white sock. It was slightly surprising to see the hatchling take to his power so briefly after hatching when the gift took a handful of weeks to show itself. Evinne and Fien, however, were not surprised to see that their son had taken to it so magnificently, they being the leaders of their tribe for many centuries. All the same it was not a common thing.

Having a sight more trouble shifting into the form of a snake, a female of cranberry coloring with white tracing sat pouting, loudly broadcasting the image of her desired form to every telepathic being present. Seeming to laugh at his clutchmate, a large copper crouched on the sands, eyeing she and the brown with mischief clearly in mind, blue-grey markings barely visible running along his spine. Watching the third of the new Satin dragons, Zrln couldn’t help but smile. Those of his colorations usually tended to harbor a mischievous side.

When no one seemed to have noticed his existence other than his flamboyant sibling, the Everland Fire was beginning to lose hope in bonding. Just as his heart sank, he caught the faint sound of inquiry directed his way. Turning to gaze at Eliza he cocked his golden head to the side, at last responding with a tentative, *Hello.*
++++++
Alsysharithe splayed her talons, digging her front feet into the sand with gleeful abandon, not in the least bothered that no interest was turned her way. But when she felt eyes upon her the muscles in her back twitched and she paused from her play to glance furtively over one sunset painted shoulder, eyes seeking out the source. At last the locked gazes with Syresluna.

Syres, for her part, wasn’t even aware that she was watching the young Kilkerith dragoness until she was staring her in the eyes. Blinking furiously, she stood up once more, regaining her composure to send a gentle welcome to the hatchling. Her welcome was responded to with a faint feeling of warmth and friendship as the dragonling moved amongst the various eggs and hatchlings to reach her. Bending her knees to kneel, Syres stretched one hand out in greeting, which was quickly filled with the side of Alsysharithe’s head. Without need of a single word the pair were bonded in that instant, Syres with a serene smile curling her lips.

OOC: I grew rather attatched to Alsysharithe and as there was no great interest directed her way, I shamelessly claimed her for myself.

Eliza turned in hope, as she heard the mental cry directed towards her *Hello little one. Do you have a name or do you wish for me to give you one?, before mentally asking Are you hungry?*, going across to him *My names Eliza and if you wish it, I would be honoured to be your bondmate* she thought to him, hand out to other help if it was needed.
She hoped the everland would accept her but was aware he may not. *Golden fire would be a good name for you, if I were to give you a name*, she thought to him.

OOC:with so many eggs yet to hatch i thought I'd contribute a few more souls to for the hatchlings to pick from. Enter Zahir (Maira's 6y/o son) and Temani (Maira's 17y/o assistant of Plains Rider descent)

Maira watched the flurry of hatchings with baited breath. With so many young ones surely one or two would choose her wouldn't they? As she watched a slight tickling sensation brushed Maira's mind and turning to look she noticed the arrival of one of her bonded dragons with two passengers. Looking back to the hatchlings briefly to make sure none were approaching her Maira then trotted over to the new arrivals. As she got closer she saw that the dragoness was Nessa, her Striirecean Miracle dragon, ridden by her son and her assistant from Sanctuary. Scared that something had gone wrong at home Maira picked up her pace to a run.

As she skidded to a hault only a few paces from Nessa Zahir slid down the dragoness's side and ran to her shouting, "Maima, Maima! We've come for the hatching!" Lifting her son into her arms Maira turned a dark scowl on Nessa's other passenger and asked, "Temani who is in charge at home if you are here with Zahir?"

The Plains Rider youth, more a man now really she noticed, answered her calmly, "Its alright Maira, Ezio is there. You know, Saiyuri's friend the griffon?"

Maira did know who Temani meant and was relieved. Ezio, though a creature himself was more than capable of taking care of the creatures at Sanctuary. With a shrug and a nod she then asked her son teasingly, "So what did you have to do to drag poor Temani to this hatching my little imp?" The little red haired boy burried his freckled face in his mother's shoulder and giggled as she tried to tickle the answer outta him. With a quick jerk of her head Maira indicated that Temani was supposed to follow her back over to the hatching ground. Then as an after-thought she sent to Nessa, *My love, your sister Seluna is around somewhere maybe you two can go hunt while we wait for all the eggs to hatch.* In response the dragoness leapt into the air and flew out of sight, no doubt going in search of her sister.

As the trio made their way back to the larger group Maira would have approached Syresluna to introduce her son and Temani but she saw that the woman was pre-occupied by a lovely hatchling. Once they were finally among the ranks of observers Zahir spotted the hatchlings and squirmed his way out of his mother's arms. He may not be old enough to bond, in his mother's opinion, but he sure loved watching the hatchlings pick their soulmates. Temani laughed as he watched Zahir bolt out of his mother's reach and said, "Well at least we know where the boy gets it from don't we lady Maira?" Maira gave a wry smile to Temani and then turned her attention back to the hatchlings.

It seemed, no sooner than I had settled Malikoriel in between Machere and Daeghana - the young Pelovettt letting forth an entire volley of questions before he'd such much as eaten a bite of the meat given to him - that a torrent of cracks and shatters filled my ears, heralding the arrival of no less than a dozen young dragonets!
"Everland, Kilkeriths, Caeddrhys, Satins..." I mused in a soft whisper, voice low with wonder as my eyes roved over the jewelled and painted hides of the young creatures. "When they said a mixed hatching, they weren't kidding!"
Almost instantly my sight was snagged by the vision of pristine, virgin white, marred - nay, enhanced! - every so slightly by tones of rosey copper. Perfectly imobile, the young Dyth was a vision of statuesque symmetry, her wings held at regal angles as her eyes, the only indicaton of life about the still dragoness, darted slightly to observe her promenading sister.
I gazed side to side at first, waiting for someone to make a move - I couldn't help but feel a shard greedy at approaching the hatchligns yet again - the raised my foot, chin held parallel with the floor, suddenly aware I was under the gaze of dozens, both humanoids, dragon, an otherwise. Cautious yet optimistic, I began to approach the white Dyth, one eye still straying towards my new beloveds, the white's clutchmates, keeping a caring, watchful sentry's gaze set upon the dragonets as they fed.
As soon as my boots once more brushed the heated sands of the beach, I sensed a manner of mischief and trickery, a devil-may-care attitude that skipped through my mind in impudent and teasing waves, an aura about me that spoke of one thing and one only: playfulness, and it certainly didn't come from the sedate and mature Dyth.
I could have pointed to the aura's source blindfolded. He was a metallic Satin, his smooth hide kissed with shadows of blue-gray, like misty storm clouds skirting across a sunset sky, and the glint in his eyes only hinted at trickery and conspiracy as he gazed at his siblings in a devious manner. He was large for his species and age, and well-conformed, a being his parents, no doubt, would take pride in...
One eye still glacning towards the prominent white Dyth - it seemed I was rapidly running out of eyes as the things to keep them on multiplied - I planted my hands on my fists and quirked one brow at the copper Satin.
"And just what do you think you're planning?" I inquired with both curiousity and authority.
