Creature Name: Myrr

General Description
Myrrs look about the same as a normal housecat, though in maturity they range from the size of a large kitten to the size of a small bobcat. Their fur is almost always black and slightly iridescent in the right light, though the first few specimens had white spots, and there are rumors of the rogue gray one every now and then. When hatched, two to a Sphere, one kit is almost always blue-eyed and one is almost always green-eyed; these colors stay throughout their life.

Special Abilities
Telepathy, empathy, slight telekinesis; blue-eyed Myrrs tend to be stronger 'kinetically and weaker telepathically than their green-eyed counterparts.

Mental Abilities
How smart are they? Use some kind of comparison: very intelligent, about the same as a human, but after bonding, before maturity, they don't show it much.
Are they particularly good at puzzles, or some sort of brain activity: They specialize in and enjoy peacemaking, stepping into a hostile situation and remedying it. Myrrs rarely get into fights, and when they do they end quickly.

Anything else you can think of.

Breeding:
How often can the creature get pregnant?: Once a year, usually during the spring months.
How long between pregnancies?:nine months
How long is it pregnant?:three months
Are all females fertile (barring accidents)?:yes
Are all males fertile (barring accidents)?:yes
Is there sex linked traits (like color)?:not really
How many offspring can the creature have at once?:1-7 Spheres, each containing two kits; the Spheres expand from the size of a golf ball to the size of a soccer ball in the two weeks before they hatch.

Other: Myrrs mate for life. If bonded, their partner helps choose a name for them; if not, they name themselves on their own. For some reason, Myrrs always choose names starting with 'M'. When hatched, completely round Spheres, about the size of a small basketball, and of neutral colors, glow slightly then dissolve away; the kits emerge strangely dry, with ears and eyes wide open. At death, or the death of their bond, their bodies also dissolve away into nothingness. They will eat anything and everything, and are not susceptible to most poisons. The kits often stick together and bond in pairs. The females have a slightly higher status than males, but not by much; greens are as intelligent as blues, but use it more. They are the "brains of the operation."

History:
Terran scientists on another Earth bioengineered these, hoping to use them as military weapons; assassins. Something went wrong, and the creatures that hatched were noticed to be completely pacifistic and resistant of control. Before they could be destroyed for safety and confidentiality reasons, a rogue scientist smuggled the barely matured kits through another experiment, a sort of dimensional portal. The Myrrs, named so unofficially by the scientists because of the only sound they make other than telepathic chatter ("Mrrr"), luckily ended up on a hospitable planet by themselves.
