((Gomen! It's just, I thought, she could be scared or mad or shocked or sad or something. I'll fix it.))
Keylo came back in, marveling at the fact that she had actually managed to help put together a functioning tent. She sat down beside Ualli, fiddling with her bangs. "No," she responded, "I'm starving too. I wonder if they'll feed us?..."
Outside, Yanth padded clumsily to lie down next to the hut-thing. The day was getting late, and she could watch their "escort" just as easily from a place closer to her rider. Laying her head on crossed green paws, she lazily continued to observe Riyaal and Armayla.

"I wonder what their definition of food is," Ualli commented, shaking her head and sitting up. She leaned her elbows on her crossed legs and sighed, tilting her head slightly. "This place is the weirdest place I have ever been. That is probably because I have rarely left the Weyr, much less the North. But this place... you know, I don't like to display my emotions, and I won't right now, but this place scares me. It scares me beyond my wildest dreams but I do not dare show how I feel because of those...things!" She brushed her short light brown hair out of the way, fingering the long pendant stuck under her shirt, a gift from her mother before she died of the winter sickness. "I don't want to die, but that is the only thing I think will come of this."
While Zoisath cried softly for her rider, the green didn't approach Armayla while the healer attended to her. The young woman was still unconscious, the bandage having soaked up much blood. Her long hair was getting tangled in matts as the blood dried.

Kyi looked at T'mar who shrugged and walked over to the poles. THey had desided to walk inbetween their two dragons incase one of theses, odd, things desided they were fod, but after hearing a few of the conversations that Carnith and Halith passed on and the actions of the others they calmed down a bit.
When the reached a stoppong point and the tent supplies were dropeed T'mar grabbed a set and Kyiana helped him set it up, or try too. THey seemed to be failing misrably at it. "You know I thing there was a reason we were always behind when we had to bild some-thing," Kyi muttered as T'mar passed her, trying to set-up the hides. "Mabye we should get some help?" T'mar said in reply "Every-one else seemes to be busy..." Kyi said, looking around.

((Gomen, minna. I'm running out of ideas, and if I tried to post now, it'd probably suck. I'll keep thinking.))

Just finished talking with a couple of krikhan riders who had recently arrived, Nyrill gave a quick nod.
"Go ahead and herd anyone who might need medical help over to the Healers. But make sure that all goes under guard" he said, "I may lighten the guard eventually, but not before we have heard from the cities. We may not let any more of them escape and get killed, the krikhan riders I just talked with have reported that most of the escapees have been killed".
Then the tribe leader paused for a few moments as he considered the matter of food and other neccessary items for the offworlders.
"They'll have to rely on the lake for cleaning and water for now, they should be given a supply of coal, tinder and some flint if they need to cook anything. For food, give them whatever is left in storage from two years back, let me know if too much of it has gone bad though. If they want food other than salted meat, grain and rice, and clothes, they'll have to work for it though".
Looking at the paddocks, Nyrill seemed to think for a while before speaking again, then he indicated an old gehon bull.
"As for the dragons, ask their riders if they are hungry and let them have that one, his joints are causing him quite a lot of trouble and it's about time that he goes. Make sure that the handlers take him out of sight of the others before they put him down though".

Daryen gave Nyril a forced nod before turning and making a face as best as a Saurian could. Well, if he was in charge of all of this, he better make the best of it. Turning to two guards nearby, he said, "I am pulling you off of guard duty to go retrieve a bag of coal, two flints, and enough tinder for a few fires. Once you are done with that you are to go retrieve the food supplies that was mentioned. You heard what he wanted. When you come back you can do your guard duties again, I don't think they are going to run right now." He made a motion with his short arms before he looked back to survey the Pernese. He really did not feel like having to watch over a bunch of teenagers. If he wanted to do that he would have gone to a secondary school, not have some offworlders dropped by a Circean.
"I wonder where Jarell and Serren went," he asked himself under his breath, looking around for a few moments before breathing out heavily and turning back to the task at hand. They were probably rounding up the strays, nothing to worry about.

The only creature in the skies was the giant dragon keeping them in, but as Zei looked up, she hoped that someone would be coming to rescue them, especially her and Rin. Tocopth and Geowith were sitting close to one another beside the framework of the tent. She turned back and began to wrap a hide around it when she saw a glint of dark green in the sky above the mountains on the other side of the lake. It was not one of their dragons - it was full grown - but it was clearly Pernese. Zei dropped the hide, toppling over the tent as her dragon started bugling. "We are being rescued!" she cried, waving her arms up and down. "They have sent someone to rescue us! We are saved!"
The green seemed to stop in mid air, trumpeting loudly before she swerved around and disappeared back over the mountains. Zei listlessly dropped her arms to her side and fell to her knees, wordlessly staring at the green dragon left. "No, by Faranth's name, no. Please don't tell me this is happening. They just left us, didn't they?"

The surge of hope that V'dyn had felt when Aldoth had alerted him to the presence of the adult green in the sky, quickly vanished when the dragon retreated. And then he watched anxiously as the alien dragon banked sharply to pursue, only to cover his ears when a angry roar reached his ears-- the adult green having escaped somehow.
"It seems like they did" he said when hearing Zei's disappoined comment, "I didn't recognize that green though. I wonder if she was the only one, or if there's others...".
Another thing that caused him to worry was whether the green they had just observed had been sent from Pern to find them, or if others had somehow gotten lost like he and his class had done.

"Maybe they will come back once the giant dragon gets tired," E'mry commented to V'dyn, looking back down as he pulled towards the tent an assortment of hides. "We need to do this before someone gets mad at us. They won't be coming back for a while, unless there are dozens of dragons somewhere, but until then we need to work." He unknotted a string tying a hide into a roll and unfurled it. Pyrith took an edge and carefully laid in at the top of the structure, moving his head so that it wrapped halfway around. "Have Aldoth take the other side and wrap it, would you, V'dyn?" E'mry told the other rider.
Rin walked over to Zei and hoisted her to her feet. "You heard what E'mry said, they will get mad if we don't build these tents. She won't come back for a while, so we better do this." She ran her fingers through her short, bristly hair and sighed. "We better do this and hope that she comes back. It's the only thing we can hope for, to get home."
Osta- 05-30-2005
Osta glowered as lady-like as possible as she stalked away Ualli. How intolerable! Well, she would just have to build a tent all by herself for herself. It was the only proper thing to do when was a Goldrider. She felt a flicker of dismay from Shosuth but easily turned it aside as she picked up a rod. This she plunged into the earth, amazed at how it gave way when it felt so firm beneath her feet. What was this place? More importantly, by Faranth how did they end up here?
Grumbling mentally to herself, Osta made quick work of the tent. It was shoddily put together but it would hold. She glowered at Ualli behind her back before ducking inside and pulling the hide firmly about it. She didn't want any one to disturb her this night. Of course, that was impossible being on a foreign planet. Almost as soon as she'd gotten settled there was some sort of commotion outside. Resolutely removing her wherhide jacket, Osta put it over her head, put her face to the ground and refused to be moved by the events. If something was truly wrong, Shosuth would awaken her. As it were, the Gold was transfixed by whatever was going on out there.
Meanwhile R'min paused in his busy work of constructing his own tent. He wanted it to be perfect and his tent mate didn't seem to agree. Glancing over his shoulder, his eyes widened at the tangle of events around them. Tents in disarray, people looking every which way for danger... and a huge Dragon overhead, greater tahn any he'd ever seen. "This is ludicrous. I MUST be dreaming," He said to himself but his hands shook as he continued to build, or at least attempt to build, his shelter.

V'dyn glanced in the direction in which the green had fled again, and then she sighed-- telling Aldoth to do what E'mry had asked. The green grumbled, starting to get hungry and tired, but standing up-- she slowly moved over to the unfinished shelter. And directed by her rider, she wrapped the other half around the frame, holding it as lightly as she could while V'dyn and E'mry attached it.
"Well, I don't know... It has landed now though" V'dyn said, turning slightly to look over at Veberrilear as the winterdragon slowly walked down from the hill she had landed on. But whether the strange dragon was tired or not, he just couldn't tell over such a distance.
"They know that were are here now though, they have to try to help us", but while he didn't say it aloud, V'dyn didn't dare be so sure about that.

"What was that?" Daryen asked those around him, but did not expect a reply. He knew it was either someone whom they had not captured, or someone totally new that had come threw but the circean had not told them about. But he did know that whatever it was, it was riling up the dragons and their riders. One green one was trumpetting loudly, spreading her wings and trying to fly, but not going anywhere as it's rider ran over and calmed it down. "We need to send someone to see what that was about. There may be more." He walked over to the valenkha. "Would you mind tracking that one and seeing where it came from? Bring it back here if you can."
E'mry sighed and shook his head, turning back to hand Pyrith another hide shakily as he positioned it on a pole. "We'll just have to wait and see. There may be more with him. I haven't seen that dragon before, and I would know if they were at High Reaches. It was such a weird color green, very dark and very light in places." He looked over at V'dyn. "Could it have been from another Weyr?"
Madrigal- 06-02-2005
C'tron was gone.
There was nothing else that mattered.
To give her credit, Karien had tried. She worked to set up the tents with the rest of the weyrlings, albeit in a desultory manner; she replied when spoken to, even if only in distracted monosyllables, even if she never met the eyes of the people who spoke.
Why hadn't Hyusith told Ameth where C'tron had gone? Didn't he want her to know? Of course he did, he loved her, he'd told her so thousands upon thousands of times...
The tent she was working on was done; her tentmate seemed to be Osta; she really did not care.
There were strange dragons above, and strange people around, and they might be about to die in this strange place... and she really did not care.
Ameth, you heard him?
Of course not. No, sent the brown.
She leaned her head against his soft, dark hide and closed her eyes for a moment. His heartbeat was loud against her ear; the membranes of his wing rustled softly as he drew it down over her, a blanket. She loved him, she thought. She loved him too, but...
C'tron...
Without her C'tron, life wasn't complete.
Come back to me, she thought into the sky, into this strange world. Into nothing, so endless...
I can't live without you. Come back.

Remaining silent for a little while as he directed Aldoth to help with the hide, V'dyn looked in the direction the green had gone yet again.
"Probably, I can't remember any green like that one at High Reaches either. I wish that one of us could get away to go looking for them. Even if they do come to help us, I really don't want to be here. Neither does Aldoth..".
He grimaced as he turned away, looking at the other weyrlings working on their own shelters around him. D'reiat wasn't anywhere to be seen, but Naryth was present-- apparently watching Ilseth as the other brown was about to wake up.
"If going Between quickly enough, one of us might be able to get away..".
Aqya- 06-04-2005
"Going /between/ to where? Back to Pern? We might kill ourselves like that, because we already know what happened when we came here. We were all knocked out." E'mry shrugged, shaking his head slightly. He finished wrapping the last hide himself and tucked it in, leaving enough space for them to get in and out. "The dragons will have to stay out here, but it doesn't look like it is going to rain in the meantime. They will be okay, I think. They can keep guard."
He looked back up at the sky. V'dyn was probably right - when, and if, they returned, that giant dragon would probably not be so happy. It was bigger than many of the dragons combined, and much more powerful. It had shocked one of the others, and struck fear into the rest. "If things come to it, we just run, period. Not going between, we just get on our dragon's backs and go."
