Panthran is a small world with one large main continent and a great ocean spotted with chains of volcanic islands. Panthran would be rather unnoticed if not for the fact it supports three feline-based races and is connection to a variety of worlds through Rifts that open sporatically accross the planet. Mostly lush and tropical and with many mountains full of rare gemstones and metals, in the past Panthran was a war-torn world as inhabitants of other worlds invaded when the Rifts opened. This has stopped in recent centuries as the Cat's aka the Ocelen's brought together the other two races the humanoid Panth's and the dragons to form a society of Explorers that would investigate Rifts before anyone could enter their world.
The main continent of Panthran is mostly made up of rainforest covered mountains, but the center is a huge savanah surrounded by what are called the Dragon Plains, because the grasses that grow here are tall enough to hide a hunting dragon.

Ocelens aka The Cats

The Ocelens resemble terran ocelots with the except that their fur is a grey-blue or grey-green with darker markings and not the gold-black of the ocelot, sometimes the patterning is reversed with the markings being lighter than the base coat. Called respectfully The Cats by the other two races, they are the top of the three races. The Cats are intelligent, curious, skilled in magic and telepathy, and possess telekinetic abilities that have allowed them to build and create without evolving "hands." The Cats live mostly in communities of their own kind in complex tree villages. Each community consists of members of various clans that fullfill much need roles in Panthran society. The cats rarely mingle with the other races with the exception for the Explorers with which that are highly involved, having a treevillage outside of the main Explorer cavern complex.


The Panths

The Panths are the humanoids of Panthran. A blend of human and feline, Panths are lithely muscled, walk upright, have tails, cat-like ears and eyes and are almost completely covered in fur, though they do wear clothes for modesty reasons. Male Panths in build and coloration resemble terran mountain lions with fur ranging from tawny browns to gold and many shades between, with dark markings around ears and eyes. Female Panths resemble terran cheetahs in build and coloration. Like the male their base coats range from tawny browns to shades of gold and yellow, but they are covered in spots. The density of the spotting varies by individual and occassionally can be so thick as to make some appear black with golden flecks as opposed to gold spotted with black. Panths do have hair of a darker shade then their fur, but most keep their hair very short.
