Pharie

General Description: short, but muscular and long-limbed, the pharie is somewhat like the dwarves of myth. Usualy around 5 feet tall, although some may become as tall as 5.5 feet, pharie have dark skin, black or brown hair and usually dark colored eyes-- those with eyecolors like light blues, greens and grey are often born with slightly stronger talents within telepathy and telekinesis. Males very often have beards and shave their heads, while the females usually let their hair grow as long as it can-- pharie females usually have quite thick hair, females with short hair are found among high-ranking dragonriders.
Due to their millenia old relationship with the kanthami, the pharie will almost always choose to found their cities in of close to the canyons where the kathami is usually found, although they will prefer a nearby savanna or river plain when possible. While most pharie prefer to make a living through agriculture and hunting, for a pharie to become a ranger, a telepath or a warrior is not unusual, and being chosen as a kanthami's rider is considered a extremely high honor. Almost all dragonriders become warriors, and as they enjoy a higher rank than most-- dragonriders will rarely lack anything in their lives, although their code denies them to exploit this unless they can give something of equal value in return for the services given to them.
However, while they are no strangers to war, the pharie are quite social with other races-- often trading with other races living close to their territories, and some pharie may work in the cities of other races, perhaps joining one of the many guilds.
