Relatar Dragon.

Homeworld/plane: Relatar, a terra-type planet.

Climate/terrain: strong and hardy creatures who rarely gets ill, dragons are capable of handling any kind of climate, although they generally stay away from the arctic.
However, they do have a preferance for mountaineous areas with high plains where they may hunt and with sheltered and safe places where they may keep their eggs, though sturdy and tall aeries in the cities of men will often do just as well.

Mental abilities: though easily as intelligent as any human and capable of understanding complex ideas, the language of dragons is very different from that of men. When among their own kind, they communicate through patterns of light, shadow and song, something which can not truly be understood by the race of humans. With their riders and other men with whom they need to communicate, they speak with emotions and images as complex as the lanaguage of men-- which they also learn as they grow older and the bond with their riders stronger.

Special Abilities: all relatar dragons are gifted with telepathy and empathy, but each individual dragon will have a spesific set of abilities determined by which god he or she has chosen to follow. The exception to this is the obsidian dragon, who communicate with all of the gods and who have the gift of seeing what is in the spirit of a living being.

Sun- the dragons who have chosen to follow Thenyn have the gifts of farscrying and foresight.

Moon- the dragons who have chosen to follow Nenyin are gifted with the ability to shapechange.

Air- the dragons who have chosen to follow Sast are gifted with aeromancy and electromancy.

Earth- the dragons who have chosen to follow Issen are gifted with geomancy.

Sea- the dragons who have chosen to follow Bessys have been gifted with hydromancy and cryomancy.

Fire- the dragons who have chosen to follow Ellael have been gifted with pyromancy.

Life/Death- the dragons who have chosen to follow Tsasil and Tsasek have been gifted with the talent of Healing.

Society: while there are no slaves or servants among dragons, as a dragon would rather die than to bow to someone he or she doesn't respect for their intelligence and accomplishments, the larger colors are always the highest ranking among the dragons. This is due to that the larger colors tend to have stronger and more forcefull minds and personalities, and they seem to have a knack for understanding what is needed and inspired others to follow them.
The smaller colors are no less intelligent however, and although they are more likely to let themselves be guided by their emotions, they are also more likely to notice subtle clues and problems where the larger colors will not.
Although the dragons are by no means dependent on Bonding with a human or sritavi rider, they are and always have been a species equal with the two, it is a many millenia old tradition for the dragons to Bond with the royals of human and sritavi and help preserve their rule. The unbreakable Bond also ensure that peace is kept between the two races, and the inventiveness and dexterity of humans in such crafts as medicine and surgery is often invaluable to the dragons.
However, while a certain kinship do exist between all dragons, their loyality lays foremost to their closest dragon kin, their riders, the family of their riders and the country in which they live, and thus a dragon will not be hesitant about fighting and even killing dragons from other countries.
Among the dragons, males and females are equal-- although the males never interfere in the matter of caring for eggs or raising the young till they are ready to Bond, that is something strictly reserved for the mother and any other females selected to assist her. While lifemating is a rare thing among dragons, a female will often form a loose attachment to one or more males who she have taken a liking to-- if her feelings are mutual. Similar to humans, dragons can always concieve, thought a female will rarely produce a clutch more than every third or fourth years, making sure to regulary eat certain mixes of herbs to make accidental conception impossible.
Young dragons are always cared for by their mothers and a trusted group of females not currently raising younglings of their own, and the young dragons are allowed to interact with any unbonded royals where they live once they are a month old. Once a year has passed, the yearling dragons are allowed to choose among any of the available royals(usually those between 17-30 years old) and Bond with him or her. If a yearling cannot find a suitable rider among the local royals, he or she will be allowed to visit royals living throughout the country or royals from a allied country are brought in for the yearling to meet. In the rare cases where a yearling cannot find a suitable rider even then, he or she may be given the opportunity to choose a rider from a noble family.

Specific Physical Statistics.
Size at birth: 1-2 meters long.
Size at maturity: look above.
Time to maturity: 10-12 years.

Combat: quite proud of their physical strenght which is immense compared to most of the other races they share the world with, as well as their intelligence and ability to fly, dragons are more likely to make use of this in a combat situation long before they resort to using magic. This is due to the fact that their physical strenght and intelligence is usually more than sufficent when it comes to fighting. It is also the fact that dragons are considerably stronger in the use of magic than humans and sritavi, and a small mistake may sometimes have catastophic consequences.

Race weaknesses: although a dragon isn't dependent on bonding with a human or sritavi rider, the Bond may make him or her slightly vulnerable once the Bond has been formed. If the rider is careless, for example by not maintaining his or her shields, a stronger opponent may strike at and even kill a dragon through the Bond. Similary, if a dragonrider is captured and tortured enough to break his or her shields, the dragon is likely to feel what the rider feels.
