OOC; I hope that you don't mind that I jump ahead a bit, to get things going. If there's anything that you would like to finish in the previous thread, feel free to do so.

IC.
As Saril, the primary sun of Sjirra, rose above the horizon-- a rumbling call came from the lake as a number of serrets signaled the start of a new day. Repeating their call once, they then started towards their feeding ground further out at the plains.

Nearly emmediately, activity appeared throughout the camp.
Children and young teens in various stages of getting dressed after sleep hurried down towards the lake to check the fish traps and take a swim. And they were accompanied by a number of serrpehs and giantcats to watch for and chase off predators if neccessary.
There was a few adults headed for the water too, though most started preparing the morning meal or their daily chores. And if the wake up call from the serrets hadn't woken everyone, the sound of several dozen hungry saurians certainly did.

Yawning as she came out of the large tent which she shared with Nyril and the rest of the tribe leader's family, Veberrilear paused for a few moments as she let her body flow back into her true form of a dragon. Then her eyes glittered as she turned towards the makeshift camp of the offworlders, getting reports from the giantcats and giant falcons who had been guarding it all night.
Though she already knew that nothing of importance had happened, she nodded in contentment as they reported that the offworlders had all been too frightened or exhausted to make any attempts at running away.
More serious however, was that there had been reports from a number of rangers and wardens that some serrets had been killed and eaten by the runaways. Most of those responsible were dead by now-- one killed by a wardenrider, and the others by wild saurians. Still, it would have to be seen how much blame would go to the leaders of the offworlders.
Then the noise of many protesting saurians reached the winterdragon's ear, and she turned to watch a herd of dhenstri and injats being herded into a new paddock next to the offworlder camp. And signaling to the riders that the animals were for their dragons, the people who had been herding the beasts departed after making sure that the gat to the paddoc was securedly closed.

Ziyaad had spent the night on the floor of her grandmother's tent, just like many nights she had spent out on the plains while scouting. Daryen was curled up at the door, keeping watch on the three offworlders who were being kept in the infirmary - the young boy named S'han who had been the worst off, the unruly woman her age or so, and an unconscious older teenage girl who had knocked herself out. As she woke up, she rubbed her eyes and rolled over onto the loose dirt where two hides had slid apart. "Daryen, wake up," she muttered as she sat up, immediately feeling the crick in her neck. "You weren't supposed to fall asleep."

"I did not fall asleep," was his reply, and the sirapeh uncurled himself and stood up. "No one has left, you do not have to worry," Daryen told her calmly. He yawned slightly, stretching out his short arms. "Veberrilear seems to be very much awake, though, and that is not something to be considered good."

Awakening fully only when her host started talking with the small 'dragon', Cheih remained quiet for several moments as she remembered where she was, and she shuddered. There was a less rational part of her that had hoped that the recent events hadn't been much more than something her mind had dreamed up..

::You are finally awake::
Cheih's eyes widened, and she winced at the unmistakeable frightened tone in Ilseth's voice, but it was also the fact that she hadn't really heard the dragon a moment ago. Not before the link between them had suddenly came back, as if someone had just clicked a button.
From the images she received from the brown, it seemed like he was somewhere just outside of the camp-- a few tents nearby, with a couple of canines resting beside one of them. At the moment, Cheih wasn't really about to ask Ilseth what had happened, what mattered was that he was still alive and appeared to be as healthy as he had been.
Promising the brown that she would see if she could get him some food soon, she looked back at her hosts-- not sure if she dared try to go outside before they made it clear that she could. And of-course there was the matter of the two weyrlings to consider.

~

Startled awake by the wake up call from the serrets, V'dyn flailed around-- confused by the alien smells and sounds around him. However, at Aldoth's grunt as one of his feet connected with her side, he managed to calm down somewhat and sat up.
"I..I'm sorry" he mumbled, reaching out to stroke the green's muzzle, before turning to look around. Just behind was the tent he had helped to set up yesterday, and in which he hand't felt safe enough to sleep. And since Aldoth was too large to enter, he had chosen to sleep on the ground beside her instead. It had meant that he had had to endure the asault of a number of insects, flying and not. But the oil some of the residents of the camp had eventually given him and the others, had helped a bit at least-- enough to make it possible to get a bit of sleep.
And as a rather cold wind comming from the direction of the lake reminded him of that it was rather early in the morning, he quickly reached for his jacket and put it on.
For a few moments, the animals being herded into a paddock that has been constructed since they had arrived in the camp, caught his attention. Then his attention was claimed by something quite different.

~

Not particulary happy about the short notice they had been given, Veberrilear crounched and dug her claws into the ground, unfolding her wings slightly to provide some shelter for Nyril and the others in her company. Then she closed her third eye-lids against the storm of dust and dry grass whirled up by the wings of the female seadragon just arriving.

Angling her wings as she landed about a hundred meters from the camp, the seadragon stayed just long enough to allow her passengers to dismount. Once they had put a safe distance between themselves and her, the seadragon went back into the air-- disappearing with a speed which made it clear that she was using fastflight.

Back from the dead. Very happy to see that I haven't been kicked off for negligence. happy.gif

Keylo's eyes blinked sleepily open. Rolling over onto her back, she squinted in confusion at the top of the tent. What the...oh! The green rider sat up abruptly as she remembered the previous day's events. Opening the flap, she peered out at the makeshift camp, noticing V'dyn already up and with his dragon. Then her view was obstructed by Yanth's large head looking in concern at her.

You are well?

"Yes, dear heart," Keylo replied reassuringly, before turning to check on Ualli.
